Tallest Man On Earth, The - Dark Bird Is Home Lyrics
And so there were no higher mountains
It's all in your hand
Nelly was the future sea
And out sails the plan
And in this travel with no journey
Letting go mine to hell
What I'm keeping now
And suddenly the day gets you down
But this is not the end, no this is fine
Still a tower's in the valley
Still winds down the stream
Still we're in the light of day
With our ghosts within
For just stepping out
Everyday a growlin' storm
But they're kind somehow
Fall in love but keep on falling
I held you for life
But letting go rope in hand
Theres just leaving now
And suddenly the day gets you down
But this is not the end, no this is fine
Still we're back in laughing memory
Still winds down the stream
Still we're in the light of day
With our ghosts within
And when there's no one on the bottom
You got there alone
Kicking up some dust to see
Where a wind could blow
And all the ways to ride a lightning
I've used up a few
And I just want you to be safe
As I thunder through
And suddenly the day gets you down
But this is not the end, no this is fine
There still are towers in the valley
Still winds down the stream
Still we're in the light of day
With our ghosts within
No this is not the end and no final tears
That will lead to show
I thought that this would last for a million years
But now I need to go
Oh, fuck

Es como si Lou Reed tocara la guitarra en lo profundo de un bosque
meciendo un poema que Dylan susurra en el viento desde un valle entre montañas.
así de hermoso suena...
I remember him playing this song on Rock Werchter 2015, when the crowd started clapping about halfway through. Just casually says: "This is about a divorce, so please don't clap". Made the whole show much more intense with the crowd realizing that this was pure emotion.. Video here: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x30l1rp
“When there’s no one on the bottom, you got there alone.”
Fuck
Gosh...i can't stop to listen it
Come to India
"And so there were no higher mountains
It's all in your hand
Valley was a future sea
And now sail is the plan
And in this travel with no journey
I lose 'til I'm light
Letting go of mind to have
What I'm keeping now
[Chorus 1]
And suddenly the day gets you down
But this is not the end, no, this is fine
We're still the towers in the valley
Still winds down this dream
Still we're in the light of day
With our ghosts within
[Verse 2]
And there are many ways of sorrow
For just stepping out
Everyday a growling storm
But they're kind somehow
I fall in love but keep on falling
I held you for life
But letting go rope in hand
There’s just leaving now
[Chorus]
And suddenly the day gets you down
But this is not the end, no, this is fine
Still we're biking, laugh in memories
Still winds down the stream
Still we're in the light of day
With our ghosts within
[Verse 3]
And when there’s no one on the bottom
You got there alone
Kicking up some dust to see
Where a wind could blow
And all the ways to ride a lightning
I've used up a few
And I just want you to be safe
As I thunder through
[Chorus]
And suddenly the day gets you down
But this is not the end, no, this is fine
We're still the towers in the valley
Still winds down this dream
Still we're in the light of day
With our ghosts within
[Outro]
No, this is not the end and no final tears
That we need to show
I thought that this would last for a million years
But now I need to go
Oh, fuck"
I saw him play this live in Atlanta as the closer to his show. On the front row right beside me was a little girl, maybe seven or eight, who he had clearly seen. At the end of the song, he looks away from the crowd and says the "oh fuck" not into the mic I assume so as not to be too crass in front of this little girl. He plays the big instrumental finish and then hands her the pick he used instead of just tossing it into the crowd. After a night of being the troubadour, the vivid bright performer, he ended on a human and relateable impulse by taking time to be nice to a little girl.
I uh... oh fuck :[
This is not the end
No, this is fine
"I thought that this would last for a million years
But now I need to go
Oh, fuck"
The instrumental after seems like crying after being able to hold it through the whole song.
PSYDUCK is still here
i used to believe that there is no magic but this song that moment how not to?
Stupid psyduck is still here 🙈
Somveer Balyan and I'm here as well now!
Somveer Balyan, psyduck ain't stupid. And I'm in love. With this. Song. Louve.
The "no this is fine" is just fabulous
How can 14 people dislike this ? :(
Somveer Balyan have you seen the short film they made about this album? It'll make you cry.

Oh, fuck 🙌👏😭
This is the perfect conclusion to this new album - a fresh, new direction for the TTMOE. He gives us his classic raw sound of him and his guitar - then finishes off with a magnificent, larger than life instrumental - that reminds us of his new direction in life (and music). Apparently - when he says "oh fuck" - he actually broke down from emotion - "At Vernon’s studio, he broke down while trying to record his vocal."

What RAW emotion! How beautiful! Thank you Kristian for such wonderful music, and expression. We learn more about ourselves from your music.
Thanks for this
I prefer his old sound, but this is still good
He reminds me of Ralston Bowles. Very very pleasant:)
All 10 tracks are "magnifika", can't wait to listen the album on vinyl when it arrives from the post :-)
please come to sziget festival this year!!!!!!!!!
+AlbiRicchi This was my exact thought of some months ago since I attended the festival this year. Too bad he didn't show up! I will probably see him live in Milan this October. Can't wait! :)
Crying with anticipation for this album
simply great..intense...emotional...
eaux claires!
As good as he's ever been. I absolutely cannot wait for this album to come out.
lo amooooo, lo amooo
Sometimes the Blues is Just a Passing Bird
but now...
(The) Dark Bird is Home
Sounds like a metaphor for Kristians inner peace. Sometimes the blues is just a passing bird, but for some the bird will never leave.
Holy shit!
“Dark Bird is Home” describes the last moments of a dying man, as he attempts to comfort his lover.
In this time of sorrow in my personal life, I find comfort in this beauty.
Perfectly tuned, perfectly written, perfectly layed down and perfectly sung.
This is as close as any musician can get to absolute perfection.
Thank you, Kristian, your songs always help me through the hard times.
You're a gift from the heavens.
+Amine Ben Lakhal shut the fuck up
As a musician, what I get out of this music is there is no such thing as absolute perfection and striving for that is useless. I feel comforted about my own music in the same way you do about your life :) Have a nice day!
Una canción preciosa, MILLONES DE GRACIAS por regalarnos esta música tan maravillosa. Regards from Spain ;)
Absolutely true.
Beautiful closer to bring the curtain down on a stunning album. Speaks volumes that I love this song yet it doesn't make my top 5 songs from the album. Man's a genius.
Anyone know if he's still with Amanda Bergman (Idiot Wind) ? I'm curious.
Beautiful song, as always...
@Thomas Bamber Oh... It's sad. I think this song is about that ...
+Amalric Nope. the whole album is about that, pretty much :(
+MsJinnifer thanks for pointing this out. You're an amazing person.
+TheSilentMountain thanks for pointing this out. You're an amazing person.
The chord progression in stunning. And the whole song is such a beautiful metaphor about Kristian's style change and his growth not just like an amazing songwriter, but also as a man. Luckily this is not the end, this is fine. But I should say this is awesome. Can't wait to see Tallest live!
@Andrea Bortolozzo Thats one way of interpreting it. But to me this is a break up song. I think the same with Sagres. The whole album is probably going to sound like a break up album to me.
View his trailer for the album for his theme, at least in part.
+alf gover It is
It sounds like being reborn when he goes into the"I need to go"part.Brilliant subtle crescendo...
Don't go..😢
that progression though.... <3
3:43 Oh fuck..
Perfect!
I will never be so deeply moved by any other artist.
It sounds like death when he goes into the "I need to go" part. So delicate.
I thought this would last a thousand years...now I need to go...cue crazy instrumental moment (so good!)
@MaXteZ YEAH! That's the BEST!
@MaXteZ
I think I've heard him curse in some live performances before but whats with the potty mouth all of a sudden?
Im definitely not bothered by it but just surprised
+msfattytroll Actually, from what I heard he didn't really write the fuck down, he was just so overcome by emotion during the song that he said it on the spur of the moment.
Might not be true but I kind of like the story.
+Bobby Jo Valentine Dude, Yesss!! I'm exactly on the same page. This is the best part of the song. When I heard this live I could barely take it, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up. So fucking gooooood!!!!
Well since it's a track about his divorce.. I think it's alright with some swearing. : )
Thank you Tall Dude!I love this song!!!The words have infinite meaning to me and I deeply appreciate all of your hard work.I'm adding this inspiring video to my Bald Monkeys music list...
Hype...
Kristian never ceases to bring joy and amaze! Fantastic!
