T. Rex The Children Of Rarn Comments
Why the hell you didn’t work this out properly, my friend? Oh my god. But Rip anyway.
This is not Tyrannosaurus Rex. It is Marc Bolan singing and playing acoustic guitar with all other backing provided posthumously by Tony Visconti.
These lyrics are wrong
I only noticed one mistake. I instead of we. What do you think is wrong?
Have I missed something? On what album is this? Or is this a self made compilation?
Thank you! Listened to a lot of Bolan in HS, still have some vinyl from back then. Never heard this. Lots of “lost” Marc out there. Sometimes, Internet, you make sense.
The masterpiece
This, finally worked out, could have been everything, huge success at least. The music is serious.
We are the seekers of Space.
Simply brilliant
From 1:10. So delicious!!
Ancient One, the priest is summoning,
Oh...Oh...
Doo...da...doo...da...doo....da

+kate davenporty xakly
+Fred Libby was playing it only this morning :) happy new year mate :)
nothing ethereal about it. Are you an English speaker?
Re:bill You can get the 'finished' version of The Children Of Rarn Suite on the Words And Music compilation from 1978, the original 'Acoustic' version is available on various bootlegs.
still a demo.not finished.but very good
have the lp
not finished Philip
@Cat Black I know it's not finished in the literal sense, that's why I put the word in commas.

wonderfull
Have been looking for this album for years and unable to find it .
Used to own it on 10" vinyl years ago . GREAT to hear it again .
MANY THANKS.
The song I mean, not the background. Is it on one of his early albums or anything?
Dont know, but it is on CD Bolan Ride on
It’s on Marc Bolan words and music
It was released as a single of sorts with the unfinished version with just Marc's voice and guitar on one side and Visconti s embellished version in 1978 It's sublime both versions
I love the background, it's great, and totally fits the song. Does anyone know where you can get it?
I suppose it's strings arranged by Tony Visconti you mean?
Hardly just standard off music player and its out of sync
@Stäni Steinbock no the effects idiot
This is just to inform you that I do not reply to people who call me an idiot, which I suppose you won't do either.
RAMA RAM!!!! Hare kRISHNA mARC bOLAND <3 :d LOVE FROM THE ANCIENT MEADOW.
Roxy foxy punctured & funky born free . I need TV when I've got TRex - your a dude yeah
That was a sad day and I still think of him regularly. I had a black arm band on at school, a punk not afraid to like Marc and Bowie. Would Msrc have ever got this sort of genius back? There were glimmers of hope. I'm sure if he got Tony V back the hits and albums would return - the standard I of Electric Warrior and the Slider. Marc was better when hungry. Super stuff I have the gatefold sleeve so where

They're not on the vid :)
There are no words..........just superb to hear it again after God knows how long
I'm lucky enough to own one of the first 100 10"gate-fold sleeve singles.
I've played it around 4 times since I bought it when it was released..
Google the artwork and the book that came with it...it's wonderful.
Lithons look cute coming out of theirs eggs. :0)
Eternal.
I haven't heard this since the eighties. Fab.
Thanks, Tony Visconti. LOVE the recorders!
very grateful to u for uploading this! MARC BOLAN IS IMMORTAL!
ahhh cant get enough of this
What's the condition like?
SIMPLY BRILLIANT
Thank you forever for posting this. I had 'The words and music of Marc Bolan' back in '79 where I first heard and loved this. It has gone through my head and my being so many times since but I never imagined I would be so lucky to hear it again in this life! Thank you again and I know Marc is smiling.
His magnum opus!
The last part of the song is so sad, but so brilliant. I love this. I feel so sorry about what happened to Beltane, but the fact that the dinosaurs begun as Beltane ended is such a cool way to end the song, and this awesome story. It brings one to tears, and really makes you think.
haven't heard this for over 20 years, and i still knew every word. feeling quite emotional.
Marc was quite simply the best.....
The likes of which will never return.
I know every word of this and probably every song he released. RIP..Marc
Fantastic.
Tony Visconti did a phenomenal job putting the finishing touches on this track. It's absolutely magical.
It's ironic that a masterpiece like this has 223 views and the newest Lil' Wayne garbage has 100 million. At least 223 people get it (though in all probability, a significant portion of that number is accumulated from people replaying this video several times, so that number is more like 75)
Marc was a one off.
Never to be seen again.
Enjoyed this work back in 77.
The man was a genius.
I know 99 percent of Marcs songs word for word.
See you maybe in the next world.
Thanks so much for uploading this!!!! where'd you get it?
Had this on a pirate from the studio, lost in the moves of life
