As much as I love this song, why in gods name couldn’t they make it as grandiose and heavy as Bring the Sun or She Loves Us. Just imagine this song building up like a To Be Kind song. I’m all for artistic evolution but that sonic density is the most important element of the swans sound.

Because as you said, artistic evolution. Their sound has changed tremendously (sometimes even from album to album) over nearly 40 years. Why is a slight change now any different?

@Jay W There is just something so primal about the heaviness of their last two albums. No other band, not even early swans, can scratch that itch for me.

I have been following Swans for over thirty years, and they still continue on their uncompromising,
unrelenting path. Micheal sounds like very early Iggy (a major influence) circa 1969/70.
What a great, great band. Saw them live in 1992 in London. No modern band has come even remotely
close to matching their epic icy sound.
