Swans - Raping A Slave Lyrics

Why be ashamed of hatred
There's nothing wrong with burning
I work hard for everything I own
Everything I own chokes me when I sleep

Why be ashamed of burning
Why be ashamed of burning
You do what you want
Then you cut out your heart

You do what you want
You burn out your heart
You burn out my heart
Then you eat my heart
You cut out your heart
Then you eat your heart

You burn it
Then eat it
You burn it
Then you eat it

Fuck man, I'm just discovering this band, it's been so long since I've been this excited about new music. Well new music to me. I've been a big fan of White Light for many years but never really gave them much of a chance otherwise. I think maybe I wasn't ready. This shit isn't exactly easy listening. Now I can see why so many musicians from all different genres cite Swans as a major influence.

The slave’s name is Larkin Grimm.

HaHa, that tickled me alright.Despite the devastating words and sounds comming from Gira i like to think of him as a decent man.

This band is bad ass. By far the heavist, darkest thing out there that I know of. This makes Death Metal look like little mary sunshine. This whole EP and Cop make Death Metal look like HR Puff and Stuff. haha

true...Swans are the heaviest and loudest band I've ever heard or seen...close second are Neurosis who are very inspired by Swans. Yes death metal are rarely that loud, unless it's doom death or funeral doom bands who are often very heavy and loud...but yes, Swans are simply overwhelming...especially live...saw them 3 times, each time they played for over 2 hours and they really rape your senses...in a beautiful way. I saw them in their latest incarnation where they rely a lot on dynamics and mostly start of song very atmospheric and quiet and then slowly build it up to this immense wall of noise and amazing rhythm patterns.
