Studt, Amy - One Last Cigarette Lyrics

I forget who you are
and you love me
and I'm not used to being hard
It's too much for me

So I'll let it all lie
So let's smoke one last cigarette together
And let it burn
Just one last taste to make it last forever
And let it burn right to the end

You forget who I am
and you almost convince me
I was somebody special, somebody good
and you and I can feel us dying
So let's smoke one last cigarette together
And let it burn
Just one last taste to make it last forever
And let it burn right to the end

You can't be the hero
Stop trying to make this something
You'll never be
You can't just fix this
With the softness of your heart
You can't stand there, telling me that it'll be alright
Nothing's alright, nothing's alright

I forget who you are
and you almost convince me
you can take me as I am

This is a lovely song. I've never smoked in my life, but I could have written a similar song and called it "one last line". I was doing a lot of drugs(coke mostly) when this song was originally released. Been clean and sober since January of 2011.

Also, I have a poem you might be interested in turning into a song. It suits the genre perfectly. It was written by my brother in 1997. I messaged you on twitter but you may have missed it. You can have the rights to it. He doesn't want anything for it. His body and mind has been devastated by cancer. He lost both of his jaw bones, all of his teeth, his nose, some of his vision and hearing, lymph nodes, the roof of his mouth, and so on. The poem isn't about that tho as it was written before that happened to him. Hit me up if you would at least like to read it. It would be an honor if you accepted it as a gift.
