The beginning is totally deceptive, showing Barbra on stage with a pianist playing. That is NOT this performance. The pianist playing here is the great Bill Charlap, NOT the pianist in your video opening. At least give credit in the info section.

Barbra is the best interpreter of Alan and Marilyn Bergman's poetic lyrics and Michel Legrand's haunting melody. She slows down the tempo to give the full attention to each word in the way it deserves. She recorded this song with a full orchestra for "Love is the answer" album. But she decided not to use the orchestral version because she always believes in "less is more approach" and the result of this performance is incredibly wistful and intimate.

In the 70's Tony Bennett recorded "You Must Believe in Spring" with Bill Evans on Piano.....I've seen my mother cry each time she listens to this version of Michel Legrands wonderful composition....This,I think, is the best of the best...no slight to Barbra at all

Lyrical, heartfelt.  Wow.  As an artist like Streisand gets older, I imagine the introspection that arrives becomes deeper, more meaningful, more personal than when the world was a bit younger.  This reminds me of the great Bill Evans/Tony Bennett version a bit.  Just lovely.
