This is the very first song that I can remember. I was born in 1952 and the song was made popular by Andy Williams in the late 50's I must have been 6-7 yrs old. It was written by Johnny Mercer who was an incredible songwriter. But Barbara Streisand sings it best. The song evokes deep emotions and memories. It is at the top of the list of my favorites

Andy first recorded this song in 1961, the year BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY's came out.  AUDREY HEPBURN sang it in the movie.

This song makes me thinks about my lover, Carmelo who died of AIDS., 13 years. He loved you as do I. I imagine him on a field of wild flowers over looking a wide field. With the wind blowing threw his hair. My Huckleberry friend. I shall meet another like him ever. I loved him so much.
