Street Sweeper Social Club - Nobody Moves (Til We Say Go) Lyrics

Tired, broke and winded
We get low percentage
So, I'm so committed
And I'm so commended
But when I say it's to the death
That's open ended
I might never die
Til bosses is crooked and ended
I might never rhyme unless I put Oakland
In it
I might never sleep til this flyer's wrote
And printed
This may not be spoken proper
I'm smiling holding choppers
Foot on the coppers
In the photo finish

Nobody moves til we say go
Nobody moves til we say go
Nobody moves til we say go
Nobody moves til we say go

(Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)

In a coat of linen
Not just quotin Lenin
Strike a blow and hit em
Like cobras totin venom
I'm your co-defendant
This system's broke and bended
Them millionaires on TV
That's a token image
Plus they're owned and rented
The most we get is a car with spokes
And tinted
Let's get loc'd and win it
We can slow their business
Til their dough diminish
When they meet these demands
We'll be foldin spinach
Nobody moves til we say go
Nobody moves til we say go
Nobody moves til we say go
Nobody moves til we say go

(Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)

Nobody moves til we say go
Nobody moves til we say go
Nobody moves til we say go
Nobody moves til we say go

(Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)
Nobody moves til we say go
(Go! Go!)

Street Sweeper Social Club Nobody Moves (Til We Say Go) Comments
  1. Susan Kane

Jeezus! I know I am old and daft but how long has this been out and why I am just hearing it??

    Scotty Waite

Pfffft I'm Gen X and I'm just now discovering this masterpiece 2 years after you!

"Tired broke and winded, we get low percentage, so im so committed, and im so commended, but when i say its to the death - thats open-ended, i might never die til bosses is croaked and ended, i might never rhyme unless i put oakland in it, I might never sleep til this flyer's wrote and printed, this may not be spoken proper, Im smilin holdin choppers, foot on the coppers in the photo finish"

Totally agree with you about they having different qualities. In spite of not knowing rap very well, I think Boots fits the more traditional style of the genre; Zack yells a lot and, in my opinion, he's more melodic.

Of course they have similarities, talking about ideology, but I also think their lyrics are distinct. De La Rocha makes more reference to history, while Riley talks about class strugle in general (don't really know about his previous group lyrics, talking about SSSC).

    Strong hugs!

    Marcus Austin

I agree. I tell people you can't always have the same voice for a Revolution. The more voices with different points of view will reach different people which will in turn create a bigger Movement

  4. TheGypsyMonk

    Soudgarden did.

  5. Aymdor

"no body moves til we sen go " =======> EXELENT

  6. Dane White Music

Guys, it seems like that top comment was a bit misunderstood... that comment wasn't about Boots being the better vocalist overall.. just about him being a better fit for this band than Zack would. And it wasn't meant to be offensive either lol.. taylorha123 wasn't saying the "constant yelling" was bad, just not the right fit for this band.

Anyways, I love both styles for different reasons, and I'm listening to Boots right now, not Zack, so I'm gonna enjoy it as is and rock the fuck out. Peace

  7. Zoarial92

That "constant yelling" is just the style of music, and a very effective way of conveying emotion in a song. Personally i love both RATM and SSSC for their individual styles and feels

  8. Lori's Puppets

    @Srmarque1 cool

  9. tuplaking1

@brantiscooler tell me something i dont know :D

  10. Lori's Puppets

@wesjoe311 I was showing how its the same exact riff. in my opinion chevelle did it better even though they ripped it off SSSC. ive seen them both live and love em both. You sir just freaked out for no absolute reason. Guess no ones allowed to share something on here. my bad

  11. wesjoe311

@LorisPuppets Ummm....why would you suggest anyone listen to Chevelle? Everytime I hear them on the radio instead of SSSC, I wanna choke someone. Chevelle? Really!?! Chevelle is rock for people with no taste...like Nickleback fans. Yep, I just compared you to a Nickleback fan. How about this: after you listen to this, listen to "Locust" by Machine Head. Now, THATS a rock band.

  12. Lori's Puppets

Listen to this song then listen to "Hats Off to the Bull" by chevelle

  13. sith happens

@taylorha123 dear gaylord...activist-punkers are supposed to scream, yell, grunt and be angry...they don't compose for homosexuals like you!

  14. BobDawg173

@RasmusKudahl I think it was sarcasm or he was kidding.

  15. AmdusiasONE

@taylorha123 That maybe true to some extent but no vocalist can add power to Morello's playing like Zack could.

  16. RasmusKudahl

@eatbluemeat "The nightwatchman" is Tom Morello ..are you kidding O.o?

  17. David Sisson

@brantiscooler It was actually his idea to start the project.

  18. leachables

lol zach wasn't as black as boots. haha

  19. Grizzly Banks

@brantiscooler the band was actually tom's idea

  20. Oscar Bourat

    just awesome

  21. Brett Simpson

alright....compared to some stuff today, this is some good shit.....but.....just my take.....does it seems almost like Tom's holding back more these days?.......i mean, this solo was good....but it was more musically sound than it was completely insane and facemelting....

  22. HaddaBePlayin

The age old debate of "nawh, Soundgarden were better." "Nawh, Rage were better." "Nawh Audioslave were better." The fact is, Tom Morello and Zack De La Rocha will always be in one band or another. The music industry is their lives, if they quit music, they'd be homeless within 6 months.

  23. Chad Brambley

@katothewhitedevil Soundgarden actually is getting back together. Cornell posted on his Twitter and facebook on New Years Eve, hinting a 2010 reunion. I don't know if that means new material, or just concerts. Either way it's good news.

Just google it for all the details.

  24. Sam Miller

@taylorha123 So he is boring? and has no passion or personality?

I do like it but I don't think its worth comparing Zac to Boots

  25. Kanin Kuntz

Great band Great song Great all around

  26. flaminghobo102

i thought they broke up forever

  27. Dara McKeagney

As far as I know Rage are technically still together, they're just not doing anything at the minute.

I watched a recent interview with Tom saying they hope to be touring again in 2010

  28. Monty Toddrick

Why the [email protected] dont RAGE and Soundgarden get back together.....It drives me nutz...we should have zack singing cause that band jelled so good and same with Cornell with soundgarden.
These songs would be waaaay better with zack

  29. HellsCowBoy666

Saw these guy at pointfest ducking awse

  30. Green-J3ster

    Sounds like Rage

  31. Stian S
