Stone Sour - Heading Out To The Highway Lyrics
Hit'em boys!
Well I've said it before, and I'll say it again
You get nothing for nothing: expect it when
You're backseat driving, and your hands ain't on the wheel
And find later on that your say ain't allowed
Oh that's the way to find what you've been missing
So I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothing to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
A chance before I fall!
You can hang in a left or hang in a right
The road is open wide to place your bidding
Now, wherever you turn, wherever you go
If you get it wrong, at least you can know
There's miles and miles to put it back together!
And I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothing to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
On the highway! On the highway!
Making a curve or taking the strain
On the decline, or ut on the wain
Oh everybody breaks down sooner or later
We'll put it to rights, we'll square up and mend.
Back on your feet to take the next bend!
You weather every storm that's coming atcha!
And I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothin' to lose at all
Take a chance before I fall
Yes, I'm heading out to the highway,
I got nothing to lose at all.
I got nothing to lose at all!

Stone Sour Heading Out To The Highway Comments
So great in tribute to Judas Priest. YEAH.
Spectre cover would be sick
Kick ass playing by this band, sonic bombast! Yessa!
For me, the best song of Judas Priest from the album Point of Entry among all their songs is the best in my opinion I love this song and the version made by Stone Sour was perfect.
Cuantas grandes influencias tienen estos tipos
Well I've said it before, and I'll say it again
You get nothing for nothing: expect it when
You're backseat driving, and your hands ain't on the wheel
It's easy to go along with the crowd,
And find later on that your say ain't allowed
Oh that's the way to find what you've been missing
So I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothing to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
A chance before I fall!
You can hang in a left or hang in a right
The choice it is yours to do as you might
The road is open wide to place your bidding
Now, wherever you turn, wherever you go
If you get it wrong, at least you can know
There's miles and miles to put it back together!
And I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothing to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
A chance before I fall!
On the highway!
On the highway!
Making a curve or taking the strain
On the decline, or out on the wain
Oh everybody breaks down sooner or later
We'll put it to rights, we'll square up and mend
Back on your feet to take the next bend!
You weather every storm that's coming atcha!
And I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothin' to lose at all
I'm gonna do it my way
Take a chance before I fall
Yes, I'm heading out to the highway
I got nothing to lose at all. I got nothing to lose at all!
This sucks balls.
Ahh, Judas Priest, every song easily recognizable. Nowadays we get some mushed guitars without a single memorable riff (not to mention proper solos) and vocalists auto-tuned to hell and back. Love the cover
What can't he sing its outrageous
Wow, just wow.
One of My all time favorite songs, huge respect for Corey Taylor ❤❤
I have to get this album. X
Alan Heyes awesome pop round to mine let's give em a spin ha ha x
Kaye Gillanders I’d totally take you up on that offer, but my fiancée might question my sudden actions. Ya know what I mean? Then if it becomes a regular occurrence, infidelity becomes the topic of the day. As innocent as our intentions may be. And that is why we cannot have nice things!
I see you’re a bit of a percussionist. Got any favourite can hammerers? 😆
Alan Heyes oh yes lots. The drummer from Alter Bridge is a big fav and of course Stone Sour. And the Rush fella. I'm rubbish with names x
Bring your fiancé as well. It could be a party xx
Kaye Gillanders That’d be rad 👌🏻
Fair play to ya, we’re all drawn to whomever tickles our fancy.
정말 멋진 커버곡이네요~ 코리의 목소리 매력적이고 야성적입니다~~★
Corey......the universal voice!
very good song very good version very good sound. I think that this song is spirit of 80x
Excellent cover. Wish this music style would come back hard. The shit they call "rock" today is horseshit...
Man this song is pure braingasm.
Nice cover, but the vocals need some more energy
Very good
great cover... now i'm very interested on listen to their original material
Awesome version of the killer track! I am a huge fan of Judas Priest! And this version sounds just like it and just as great!
I'm gonna get some hate, but I feel like this just lacks energy & some high points.
InfernosReaper Nothing wrong with some healthy criticism. You're allowed to share your opinion, even if it is not popular amongst the rest of us.
Nothing beats Rob's voice, but this an awesome cover. Has been on my workout playlist for awhile
gotta say, they did an excellent job of this..
Corey Taylor is an amazing artist, but he will never top Judas Priest's version. and this goes for any of their songs
Taylor's voice doesn't come close to Halford in his prime.
HinjuRock They are very different types of vocalist. I doubt Rob in his prime could sing Slipknot's Scissors or Stone Sour's Road Hogs.
@Alan Heyes
Yeah - that's because Rob is a real singer, not a shitty death metal singer.
HinjuRock That’s quite a narrow-minded and obnoxious opinion.
@Alan Heyes
Hey, sometimes the truth can be that way. The majority of modern metal singers are shite - all they do is growl and scream in a death metal style trying to sound like Phil Anselmo, except that Phil Anselmo did it first and best and he was also a great clean singer back in the day. Corey Taylor is decent, but as I said, he's no Halford, Dio, Dickinson, Tate, Staley or Cornell. He should just stick to the death metal and clean emo-ish vocal styles that he's known for and leave the real hard rock/metal singing to those who are masters of it.
they rock for real it sounds like good rock
Nicely done, but it doesnt bring anything new to the song, they just play it
jackoblllllllll That was kind of the point of the Burbank cover EP's. Givin' a nod to their influences and stayin' as true to the sound as one can without imitating or parodying the original.
What do you expect? The added editions of a Deathcore breakdown and a Salsa Swing vibe in the verses? Tell me, I need to know! 😛
I agree with both opinions. I think it's clear that they were trying to copy the original as closely as possible and they were successful. I did a cover of Subterfuge but changed quite a bit about it, it just depends on what inspired you to cover the song
great job
I'm a huge priest fan but I think this is better then the original almost like this song was written to be sung by Corey Taylor
Not close to Rob,but what a kick job. Wow!!
this voice is an ear-melting powerhouse that blows any other singer away and I'm sure every other singer steps aside for the most talented vocalist in ROCK
a shade too fast and no opera..... the guts of this song was the voice... give it a 7.5...... drums are flat too.
such a good cover..WELL DONE STONE SOUR.
I wait GELATO AL CIOCCOLATO pupo cover dears stone sour!!!!!!!!
respect to STONESOUR for a fantastic cover of the legend's that are JUDAS PRIEST.💀😈💀
Are you kidding me?! I had know idea Stone Sour covered this!
Stone Sour is better than Slipknot
I have no problems with your opinion, but I'd say S.S=SK
It's funny because I'm a fan of StoneSour but can't stand most Slipknot... Glad I'm not alone.
Revolutionary Guy totally agree. But there's a few slipknot gems xx
Lighten the fuck up people and enjoy the music!!
This thread is figurative cancer
Perfect choosen song
dam good cover
judus preist was always great.. especially the late 70s into the early 80s..
Judas were pretty good in 70's, but they were a MONSTER in the 80's.....
Fuck ya awesome priest cover
In terms of aggression and speed metal, i agree. In terms of musicianship and composition, i think their 70s stuff is the best. but it doesn't matter. Judas priest is my favorite band and they're awesome
dat voice. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thought this would suck....surprise!
Fuck Yeah!
Righteous, properly respectful cover/tribute to THE Metal band.
best song in the album
spot on!!!...
I must admit, I did not know this was a cover until recently, though I went back and listened to the original and meh this versions better (IMO of course)
That's blasphemy! Go back in time, grow up in the 80s and then come back and take another listen! Priest rule all. Joking (somewhat) love Em both but can't touch the original!
You give Ellis a bad name. This is actually good but accept no substitutes!
You’re a fucking idiot who needs to clean the shit outta his ears. (IMO of course)
Death to all but metal \\n/
But metal?? hahah
@Chad Cassidy No death to all, but, metal
this is quality music! cheers corey!
you rock corey tailor
+Camilo Sanjuan Palacios GOOD JOB BUDDY you spelled his name wrong LOL
@iamananimal42 pape esta buscando q le baje el dedo o q . you dead bitch
Perhaps it was his auto correct? Who cares? For you two to take the time to make fun...well, after all this time, I certainly hope your much better than that by now.
Another exceptional cover by Stone Sour. I can't complain.
pretty decent
FUCK Yeah! \m/
I've been a JUDAS PRIEST fan since 1978. This is the 1st time I've heard this cover by STONE SOUR (it's August 16th, 2015) and it's absolutely BRILLIANT!!!
I love Stone Sour but I had my doubts about these covers, but they're all performed brilliantly. No more doubts!
+Fraevo10 it only got released on April 18, 2015 ......
AJAnewage yes so August of the same year is well after that
I'm loving it. Awesome xx
Fuck yeah!!!
Still looking for the hard copy release...
HOOK LINE SINKER
Great cover ... Corey and the boys know how to keep it real.
I don't get y they had to fire Jim root to do slipknot when he could bounce between the two like Corey dose but Christian sounds kick ass root is one of my favorite guitarist
I thought root left voluntarily
Saw them sing this live at the TLA in Philly in January 2014. Awesome experience!
Wow, they did a great cover of this! These guys are a damn good cover band! They've sounded good on every cover so far.
Nice cover totally nailed it.
Good cover.
Awesome
This is a good POP cover.
still counts as rock sir.
@SporeTech Yes, it does.
I'm a die hard Judas Priest fan and in my opinion Stone Sour did a great job here! \m/
"...and fuck it up"
Like when Gimp Bizquick covered Behind Blue Eyes.
Great job
my father is a big Judas Priest fan and i show this song to him and he said: woow it's so cool
211Appolo dont forget about Ozzy with Children of the Grave and James Hetfield with Creeping Death!
They did a fucking bang on job for sure.
without james its just nothing...
+Samuel Urdaneta Sansone Not really.
james its james
@Samuel Urdaneta Sansone I think he is good for Stone sour but fans should give a new guitarist a chance in Stone sour's new album.
Very 80's
The best of the EP, keep rockin guys, I'm waiting for a new album to rip the hair of my head of, thanks for doing such good music
Another amazing cover
