Steven Wilson - Thank You Lyrics

How about getting off of these antibiotics
How about stopping eating when I'm filled up
How about changing line 'couse it don't make sense
How about that ever elusive kudo

Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence

How about me not blaming you for everything
How about me enjoying the moment for once
How about how good it feels to finally forgive you
How about grieving it all one at a time

Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence

The moment I let go of it was
The moment I got more than I could handle
The moment I jumped off of it was
The moment I touched down

How about no longer being masochistic
How about remembering your divinity
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out
How about not equating death with stopping

Thank you India
Thank you providence
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you nothingness
Thank you clarity
Thank you thank you silence

Yeah yeah
Ahh ohhh
Ahhh ho oh
Ahhh ho ohhhhhh
Yeaahhhh yeahh

Steven Wilson Thank You Comments

Beautiful cover. I am wondering why people in the comments do not know this was written and originally sung by Alanis Morissette.

  2. S.... &....

How about stopping singing so lamenting...

  3. S.... K....

do you know how hard it is to find this cunting song when the only lyric you can remember is thank you

  4. S.... M....

    THANK YOU DISILLUSIONMENT!

  5. R.... A....

    Eargasm :)

  6. D.... D....

    Such a beautiful song!!

the line "transparent dangling carrots" is one of the best of the original song. The Metaphor about a carrot and a stick is about constantly chasing the promise of goals we can never achieve, and therefore always disappointed and always overworking, rather than appreciating the successes we DO achieve. It's too bad this line was changed because you didn't look it up. :/

why he say thank you india and after that thank you terror? i mean what he wants to say?

    p.... b....

It was written by Alanis Morrissette, so you would need to ask her. Maybe because it rhymes?

    p.... b....

She (He) is thanking the circumstances—terror, disillusionment, and consequence, among others—that helped her achieve personal growth. She says 'Thank you India' because by visiting India to take a break, she was able to free herself from the aforesaid circumstances. So, she takes her India visit as a positive step...

  10. N.... E....

    Love him. Love his voice.

How 'bout changing a line 'cause it don't make sense.
    Thank you Steven.

The original line makes sense. Look up the idiom "carrot and stick". It's about ignoring all of our obvious imaginary goals and the pressure we put on ourselves, and stopping to appreciate what we already have instead. Not sure what Steven Wilson was thinking here.

    His voice is perfect !!!
