Steve Hackett is one of the greatest rock guitarists ever. These concerts are better than anything Genesis had put together.

I remember the 1st time I listened to A trick of the tail.

this album has easily one of the greatest a-sides of all time...... I mean, I love the whole thing, but the first 4 tracks are nothing less than magic

Beautiful piece. The best group ever up until Abacab when they went totally commercial. Pity the snowflakes these days don't understand or appreciate really good quality music. So sad.

I have many favourite songs by Genesis but this is one of the top songs.

Saw genesis trick of the tail tour. Long Beach arena in maybe 77? they had a huge wall of flood lights and when that lit you could feel the heat far away. The base pedal was like an earth quack.

This song transfixed me in 1976 as a junior going into my senior year here in Cincinnati. I was lucky enough to drive with my buds my senior year, spring of 1977, from Cincinnati to Nashville was to see the wind and wuthering tour with Steve. For $4 by the way.

There's a deep pathway in my brain which will always hop into Squonk the moment Entangled ends.

I was lucky enough to see Hackett and Gabriel in the original Genesis in the early 70's. No better prog rock band incl Yes and ELP. As great as they both were after seeing Genesis about 8 times I can honestly say they were and always will be the Kings of prog rock music. 😃

Bloody out of this world music, something that makes me want to dream and float in the universe.

I sometimes feel very mixed about Jakko being lead singer of King Crimson, he does pull off the Greg Lake and Boz Burrell parts pretty well with his voice type but the John Wetton, Gordon Haskell and Adrian Belew era stuff is very different, and I’m a huge Belew fan personally so it was a tough change to accept, but I’ve warmed up to Jakko still because of his work with Steve. He really does have the chops to pull off the Genesis material.

I must admit this is the music of Genesis and Steve does a great job he keeps some great music alive how anyone that listens to this and not like it from a musical point of view you will not hear any better I am not one to choose between old Genesis and new there is only one choice This is what made Genesis great and thank god Steve and his band do it the justice it deserves he is in class of his own

This was genuinely magic live. Saw Steve in Liverpool, few years ago. Close your eyes and it's 1976 again.

This is the only time you can hear this piece with the proper levels on the bass during the final instrumental. It is really weak in the mix on the original vinyl and the CD isn't that much better. Here though it is properly mixed!

Saw King Crimson at the Greek. Jakko fits in quite well.

He’s really grown on me. Put in a phenomenal performance on Easy Money when I saw them at the Albert Hall this year. Tightest live band I’ve ever seen.

The only original Genesis member that seems to "get" what Genesis actually was

Gabriel and Hackett were their heart. After they left the band capitulated into a shadow of what it was and then was forced into pop. I think their career change had less to do with greed and more a forced change from losing their most talented songwriters. Plus, Banks being a complete cunt.

Agree on all points , although Banks' input should not be underestimated or undervalued but a humoulrless c**t he was nevertheless - particularly with his slagging off of his once best friend , Peter Gabriel , and for his shameless sacking of Steve Hacķett .

@ThefightingCelt It's his band anyway. And once upon a time, he was also a keyboard genius who created masterpieces like this, and some of the most memorable organ solos in prog/rock history! What happened after 1978, it's still mystery to me..

Steve was not an original member. Just FYI. I love the old stuff too, and Steve is an absolute favorite. But he was not an original member. You should check out Ant Phillips' stuff. :-)
