@Plasma Storm73 Sir it was two years of me listening to a garage turn into a Sound Studio so believe me, I know each and every song Kenny and his friend, my ex wrote together AND why. Mike "purchased" the song to use but he couldn't stop Kenny from using his own music as well as his friend. Also Mike/Mili didn't tell anyone it was going to be used in a movie...bad karma there. I even have a CD of the original songs of Chillin' Sun so there is no mistaken my words of truth. There among many others and a few that Mike be used as well. You are hearing this first-hand not by third-party or anybody close to that. It's the same way with Shangri-La. WE ALWAYS started the weeknd on Fridays by saying "Welcome to (name here) Shangri-La"! The song started out being written as a joke but it became much more. As I said there are few others and sadly the people that wrote and put their hearts into that music will never be recognized because of lies.
Also the Ahhh song...Kenny and my ex worked on that song until it was dead! For some reason they could not find ANY lyrics to fit what they wanted to have in the song. So they just put in Ahhh!

This is original version and Miljenko&Kenny made it long time ago, the album Wait realesed 1996. and movie 5 years after. Some prefer movie version more because of Mark and metal eighties sound , but this is something else, it is twisted, it is hard, no sweets in it, and I like it much more, but that's matter of taste isn't it? It is good song either way and Miljenko sang both versions, Marks voice was mixed in audition part and latter maybe just a bit, but when song went high register it was all Miljenko do not full yourself..

Steelheart was an amazing band, with one of the best vocalist ever!!

I can't decide which version is better, this or the "commercial" version in the movie. Both are great in their own way. Im used to hating people who writes this kind of shit but this is my first time.

I prefer the version from Rockstar. Yes, it is the same singer, but a different band. I prefer Zakk's beefier guitar. I prefer the tempo in the other version, I also prefer Miljenko's performance in the other other version better. Yes, same singer, different recording... so some could like one over the other and not be ignorant as they are two different versions. I don't hate this one, just prefer the other.....

+composerdave68 The one in Rock Star, although it sounds good, is an overdistorted piece of crap that was made to fit Wylde's guitar playing style, which kinda nullifies Mili's voice. This version is emotionally more powerful than the one in Rock Star.

Yes, Rockstar is based on the story of Tim "Ripper" Owens. His tenure with Judas Priest was actually longer than a year. It really was 7 years (1996 - 2003).

They changed some things during production of the movie, to the point that Judas Priest didn't like it and they pulled permission to use their likeness and songs and such. And Ripper was still in Priest when this movie came out.
