Statler Brothers, The - I'll Go To My Grave Loving You Lyrics
I'll go, I'll go to my grave
To my grave lovin' you (lovin' you) lovin' you
I'd give, I'd give all I've saved
I've saved lovin' you (lovin' you) lovin' you
And should, and should I live again
For I'll go, I'll go to my grave
To my grave lovin' you (lovin' you) lovin' you
Oh, to take his place forever
There's nothin' I wouldn't give
I'd prove to you daily what a man really is
I'll lay, I'll lay down my life
Down my life lovin' you (lovin' you) lovin' you
I'd work, I'd work day and night
Lovin' you, lovin' you
And when, and when life calls us both above
Honey, you'll know that you'd been loved
For I'll go, I'll go to my grave
To my grave lovin' you (lovin' you) lovin' you...

FOREVER LOVING YOU!!!!!!!
great song thanks for sharein remember listening to this song grow in up
4 men never sounded better than these guys
The words to this song are SO true. Ive played this and other songs for my wife many many times. But now Im very saddened by the song but find it true. I met my wife in 1987. After 31 years together she suffered a stroke Dec 28 2018. I rushed her to the best hospital and they did what they could. 3 or 4 days later she was better. The 5th day she was really better. Eating , talking. She joked with me and hugged and kissed me. That smile of hers was amazing! So much life in my wife. But she died suddenly that night on Jan 3. I think another clot went to her heart. They tried their best but her heart just would not pick up. They stopped trying and let me hold and talk to her. I caressed her hair and face and held her as she slipped away. 31 years just slipped away. Im still not moving forward at all. This song is sad but true. What a life . Ill always love her and be her husband. Ill see her again one day. Hope its sooner than later. I cant take this world without her. I love you my soulmate! Forever!
does anyone know who played that pretty opening guitar. and to my friend Chris, my dad, mom , brothers and friend Pat. Love you forever
Impossible to say. Harold played both steel guitar and dobro, Marshall Grant was a regular session and tour guitarist for them, and John Hughey played web-pedal steel guitar (kinda looks like a lap harpsichord). As far as I know, Lew DeWitt only played acoustic guitar (professionally). Take your pick. My guess (and that's ALL it is) is that it was Lew. He was definitely good enough.
I found an LP vinyl album of this song and more of their greats. Check it out. https://www.ebay.com/itm/142961299811

Love the statler brothers
On march 15th after fifteen years of longing for his wife, my grandfather joined my grandmother in heaven. I feel this song very much conveys his feelings for her.
The were better with Lew but Jimmy was good too
Oh John...you sure know how to keep a girl from saying it's over!! Beautiful song! Love you....
I'll go to my grave lovin' you, lovin' you
I'd give all I've saved lovin' you, lovin' you
And should, and should I live again
Even then, it won't end
For I'll go, I'll go to my grave
To my grave lovin' you, lovin' you
Oh, to take his place forever
There's nothin' I wouldn't give
I'd prove to you daily what a man really is

Honey, you'll know that you'd been loved
For I'll go to my grave lovin' you, lovin' you
And when, and when life calls us both above
Well, honey, you'll know that you'd been loved
For I'll go to my grave lovin' you, lovin' you, lovin' you

peyton page ,I lost my mother in 2008, I miss her dearly
That's almost 3 minutes of bliss right there.
My father died in 1975 and my mother sang this one over and over.. This one really strikes a heat string. Thanks
My father died in 1977 when I was 5. I grew up on this stuff~~8 track tapes are a thing that young folks today couldn't even imagine
Robbie MB did you father strike a heart string?
In Loving Memory of my husband of 26 years, Curtis Schumacher,. Curtis passed away 08/26/ 2016, of a massive heart attack right in front of me. He reached up and tried to say something, then he was gone. melted on the floor. I tried my best to revive him, the Paramedics worked on him for 45 minutes while I paced the floor praying. My heart is broken, I not only lost the love of my life, but my fishing partner, my golfing partner, my hunting partner and my best friend in life. Rest in Peace Darling, There will never be another.
I am so sorry, dear. Tears are evidence that you have known love. I lost my only close friend in DC (where I leave) one year ago. I have never experienced so much anguish, so my heart really goes out to you. God bless you.
Cheryl Schmacher wow great story
Will be thinking about you , God bless you, I lost my mom 7 years ago an my dad 13 years, an still get tears in my eyes , if u have great love for someone u always will have flashing memories an will never end
i'm so sorry, Cheryl. only a widow can understand. i have faith that i will see my beloved again one day. August 1, 2009. i wish i could say it gets easier, but i still miss him every minute of every day.
This is still my go-to song when I need a lift. And no one ever lifted better than these guys. They were as good on their last show as they were when they were new out of the box. Love them. Thank you so much for this.
I grew up with their "Statler Brothers Now and Then" album in the 1970s and 1980s. My parents would play that album (vinyl) all the time...love it. :)
Me too. Got my one and only moving violations in early 70's , listening to this in my car one beautiful summer day - with this playing full blast and me singing along. Can you feel better?
Only kidding, but, yeah...you could feel better without the cop and the ticket! :D
If you get a chance, watch the 1976 movie "Drive-In." As raw as that movie is, it'll bring back SO MANY memories of the 1970s - The Statler Brothers; a Playboy Playmate; the drive-in movies; etc. Check it out! :)
