When I was in 5 or 6th grade in 73 our school bus driver would always have the radio on in the morning so when I hear this it reminds me of having the bus drive onto a country road to pick up just one girl.. Then back to town.. Not that it was very far.. Just funny how songs bring you back in time.

I saw him do this song live in concert on one of his All Starr Band tours. He introduced it by saying George wrote most of it, but he had come up with the idea and "some of the lyrics." Sounds like a co-written song to me. Sir Ringo is brilliant no matter what anybody says.

It is easier to show than to tell sometimes. He was real good. Strawberry fields, ticket to ride, those were tough patterns.

The audio quality of this version is terrific! Soooo clear and crips.

I would guess that most of us focus on Ringo's incredible vocal on this song. But if you listen close, we Beatles fans can hear George's unmistakable voice singing harmony right behind him, right from the first word of the first verse. It's spooky, and gives me chills. I don't know why, but I always get choked up when I hear this song. And yet I listen to it over and over, like now. Indeed, sometimes all we have is a photograph of a dearly departed loved one, even if that "photograph" is just a song that so profoundly reminds us of them.
