Squier, Billy - All Night Long Lyrics

I get up--I run through the world like a fire
Heat it up--I swim in the flames of desire
Chase it if you care--take it if you dare--it's there in the air...
Answer to the gun--dance in the sun--run boy run...
Run for your life--you're movin' on and on
The art of survival is turnin' me on

And I'll be chasin' it all night long (don'tcha wanna live)

I get out--I roam through the streets like a tiger
Let it out--I swing like a bird on a wire
Everywhere you go everybody knows--oh don'tcha know...
Everythin' you do--anybody new--they're all on to you...
Fight for your life--turn it all around
The art of survival isn't gettin' me down

And I'll be chasin' it all night long (don'tcha wanna live)

  3. P.... K....

    ♥️🤘

  4. C.... U....

Marshall Mathers Eminem is obsessed with this guy.

Does anybody know what's up with that?

    C.... U....

Probably because Billy is most sampled artist in hip hop history and it has made him a very wealthy man. And oh Billy squier fucking rocks

  5. S.... H....

Have seen Billy 3 times in concert & he was fantastic every time. One of the most underrated singers, songwriters, guitarists, performers in the world. SHOULD BE IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME AND NOT FOR MOST SAMPLED ARTIST BUT FOR HIS OWN FABULOUS WORK.

    S.... H....

I agree 100% he should be in the rock n roll hall of fame, Billy was a complete badass 💪🤜🤛

    S.... H....

@Steven Neal Yes, he was! At least he's in the BLUES HALL OF FAME and got there before Clapton, whom I also love. Billy deserves it and much more.

  6. T.... A....

Not much sounds better in a t top Camaro!

  7. T.... W....

It’s nothing new to me star struck 🙏

  8. T.... W....

I love seeing fans being so happy 😀 with all the hard work that’s put in to make them do that. Smile 😊 SMILE

  9. K.... B....

Billy and I shared a coke dealer in salt lake in the 80s he could get tuned and still go on stage and tear it up he was so good and we had top quality product

  10. V.... B....

    👍🤘✌

  11. 4.... B....

I love when someone throws a beach ball during his guitar solo and he kicks it....then keeps on jammin' LIKE A BOSS !!!!!

  12. S.... N....

When I was 5 we moved to okc. Moved into an apartment complex that was mostly black folks. Well, there were 2 dudes living next to us that liked to blast rap music. Back in that time was the era of old stereos with the bass, treble, mids, and highs with the knob settings. My dad had one of those with the big ass speakers. One night he had had enough. So he turned those speakers around, put em up against the apartment wall facing the dudes apartment, and cranked this song on...the bass at the beginning of this song rattled the fucking walls man. 😂😂 them dudes turned their music down quick. I'll tell ya right now, that is the moment I fell in love with rock and roll, and Billy squier.

  13. E.... V....

When this came out, I thought, "Excellent! Another awesome Billy Squier album!"

Remind me again, what was the problem? This rocks!

    R.... M....

    Signs of Life 1984

  19. B.... ....

Live from the Spectrum in Philly! I was there.

  20. h.... ....

His music has ALWAYS KICKED ASS!
Shame the "video killed the radio star" , in his case - goes to show how societies attitudes have changed : nowadays , if an artist actually IS gay , they're embraced much for THAT reason - which is stupid!
Squire has a catalog that rivals MOST of what has come out in the last 20 yrs

  21. M.... S....

and the people loves lady gaga at 2017..

  22. S.... K....

seem to recall that this video was done by NFL Films

    S.... K....

Scott Kral most likely since they were based in southern NJ. Dio used them for both of the concerts he recorded at the Spectrum.

  23. K.... D....

never tire of him. Classic one of a kind life changing tunes ♡. Happy birthday

  24. C.... S....

Entered Billboard Oct 27, 1984 ..reached #75 ..reached #10 on Rock chart

  25. R.... S....

This song totally shreds on GUITAR! Chuck Flanagan who is an awesome guitarist who created the instrumental for Don Henley's song Dirty Laundry..can play ANYTHING on guitar! He's on YouTube. Omni Speaker Cabinets for the electric guitar...I met Randy Rhoades twice via Chuck Flanagan.......

  26. A.... T....

The 1980"s were something special, if we just had a time machine!!!!

    A.... T....

    Awesome times!

    A.... T....

Aldo Thomas totally with you on thst.

  27. D.... ....

    Yes., :)

  28. A.... T....

    Awesome!

  29. C.... J....

Adoro essa música, mas ao vivo é melhor. Lembrei da minha adolescência.

  30. z.... ....

I liked this better when it was called "Toys in the Attic" (by Aerosmith).

    z.... ....

sorry, not hearing the similarities...at all

  31. F.... ....

With all the Neanderthals and their snarky comments about the "Rock Me Tonight" vid, I bet they all forgot about how rockin' this one here is.

    F.... ....

Fakename70 After watching the “Rock Me Tonight” video, the dance moves in Billy Squier’s videos can never be viewed in the same way. It’s just something that can’t be unseen. Too bad because he can really rock.

    F.... ....

I'm sure Billy forgot about it to as he's worth 60 million and chilling with his hot blonde wife.

  32. T.... N....

    I LOVE MUSIC RETRO !!!

  33. D.... R....

    fuck YA!!!!!!!1!

    D.... R....

or should of I said ... " We Love You Billy"

  34. M.... B....

79" TRANS-AM......Long Hair and Parachute pants. Driving old Bush Hwy with lights off in the full moonlight smashed out of your mind with a Bud between your legs (When she isn't). Cold beer and Hot women Like Arizona Sun and Coppertone Like Wheels backed into the River and chics for Free!
Oh BTW.... My son will be 25 next month and getting married after that... Yeah, do the math :-))))))

  35. D.... S....

The ONE & ONLY throwing up the horns @ 2:56! What an entertainer he was & a witch w his solo phrasing. One of my Top 3 Squier tunes!

  36. J.... ....

If he had come out with this in '84, instead of that piece of shit queer video for Rock Me Tonite, his career probably wouldnt have gone down the toilet.

    J.... ....

I'm surprised Drake didn't kill his career with hotline video

    J.... ....

JokersWild45 the video didn't end his career.

  37. z.... p....

This brings me back wayyyyyy back !!!!!!!

  38. k.... w....

I'm solo totally with you Jacqueline C. At :37 I would love to take him backstage and ride him. Heeeheee....

    k.... w....

@kameera winters Man i love his music. now i have to act upset cause my peers say he's gay.

    k.... w....

This guy isn't and been married for over a decade. If you are a long term fan, that was only speculated not true what so ever. He is as straight as a ruler. Regardless hot eye candy for the most part.

    k.... w....

Would it matter if he were gay? Great songs are great songs. His talent doesn't rise and fall depending on who he's involved with.

    k.... w....

kameera winters that's not what he means. Gay is just a generic insult nowadays.

  39. f.... h....

Fuckiin love this tune, not bad for  a fagot.

  40. j.... ....

    Brings back great memories ...
If I had a dime for every lap made cruising the "strip" while this was blasting the windows out ....I'd probably be a Republican today.

    j.... ....

So what you’re sayin’ is you’re still poor and still voting democrat? Don’t feel bad, there’s a lot of people been voting democrat for years and they’re still poor too.

    j.... ....

@Nuckin Futz hahahaha hopefully he woke the hell up..

    j.... ....

@Nuckin Futz Great response. I use the term nuckin futz all the time. Great handle. TRUMP 2020!

  41. V.... L....

oh man, woaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! rock n roll babe.pity wasnt born in the 80s

  42. b.... L....

this guy is really good, lots of good music! they just don't make kool stuff like this any more.

    b.... L....

Yeh! Billy Squier! Rocks the World!

    b.... L....

You should have seen him in person. A dynamic performer! He’s probably the most underrated artist in rock history.

  43. B.... ....

I was at this show at the Spectrum.  Billy opened with it and then did it again, to make sure they got the right shots for the video.

    B.... ....

With Ratt as the opener! My first show at The Spectrum.

    B.... ....

+BrianVinceNeil I was there also,it was a great show... but as i remember Ratt opened and they sucked

    B.... ....

+BrianVinceNeil I was at that show too-amazing! One of the best Ive ever seen.

    B.... ....

Michael Coffman same for me...pretty amazing.

    B.... ....

I was there as well. Couldn't wait for the video to come out to see if my friends and I were on it. Sadly we aren't LOL

  44. D.... G....

i was at this concert so fun

    D.... G....

    Me too. Awesome show.

  45. T.... B....

One of our favorite songs in our teenhood. It rocks

  46. B.... L....

remember when mtv world premiered this video.  loved it then and now

    B.... L....

Billy Love actually was in college when this world premiered. I skipped class so I could be in front my TV to watch it LOL

  47. D.... G....

saw him in 81 82 and 84 met him in 82 nice guy helluva show all 3 times

  48. B.... R....

I still remember hearing this song for this first time on LP in the test room at the record plant for Capitol Records in Jacksonville,Il. Squier was an album. Not too many artists today out there where you can play the enitre album and lke every song.

  49. P.... W....

    Sydgve vytkan!!!

  50. A.... M....

    THIS SONG STILL ROCKS!!!

  51. l.... ....

I completely agree with everything you said. To be blunt about it, it's none of my business what stars like Billy do in their private lives. I'm just here for a real music experience, which Billy is so talented at giving those of us who love music.

  52. r.... ....

Who cares if Billy Squier liked wearing pastels in his videos. Your sons watch Glee..so what does that say about you?

  53. m.... ....

Four people are haters and don't know real music if it slapped them in the face!!!

  54. 5.... ....

    I'd do him.

  55. m.... s....

and he is some kind of an engineer like building or bridges or something

  56. A.... A....

He is underrated. And to echo what a large majority of people have said...he doesn't act gay and even if he was what the hell does that have to do with anything? I love Billy Squires music if he is gay or straight. People who are intolerant need to sucked out of society like the vaccum of a broken airplane window!!!! Get a life people!

  57. R.... V....

this guy is so underrated... he is amazing

  58. a.... ....

Ah yes. Back in the days when musicians actually had talent. Good chit here.

  59. K.... l....

Met Billy in late '77 when he played with Piper. Loved his songs but he was stuck up.

  60. j.... ....

    Billy is the man !!!

  61. D.... H....

lo mejor del rock and roll ke he escuchado

  62. S.... S....

    Such a wonderful song ... old 80s.

  63. m.... ....

I am just discovering Billy Squier and he f'ing rocks!

  64. A.... H....

Loved him since I was 13 - many many moons ago - He can revert me to a squealing 13 year old in seconds.

  65. C.... ....

If Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, Angus and Malcolm Young had an orgy and a child was bore from that, it's name would be Billy Squire.

  66. s.... ....

    @DocFlamingo

Actually the cock wouldn't be hairy, only the area around it and maybe the balls. Besides, I hear moose shave their privates. HA!

  67. D.... ....

My very first concert was Billy Squire opening for Queen. THAT was a fucking show...

I feel bad for young people today because all of their "music" sucks big hairy moose cock.

  68. D.... ....

My very first concert was Billy Squire opening for Queen.

I feel bad for young people today because all of their "music" sucks big hairy moose cock.

    D.... ....

Supposedly billy opened up for Freddie mercury a lot lol

  69. b.... ....

was this when he opened for Triumph on their Never Surrender tour?

  70. l.... ....

@Dhoylandrules84 FYI: Billy was, and presumably always will be, an only child

  71. S.... R....

3 people thought this all night long porno video

  72. m.... ....

    the man can sing !

  73. B.... F....

How could anyone not love Billy Squire. Theres' just something about his music that just give your body a crazy sensation and you can't help your actions when he's on. You can't sit still and be quiet. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE

  74. l.... ....

@Dhoylandrules84 Billy doesn't have any brothers. He is an only child.

  75. d.... ....

This was the first video of his released after the superstar ending travesty of a video that was Rock Me Tonite. It was meant to remind people that he was a real and proper rocker - it was a great video and an even better song, but it didn't quite have the intended effect.

  76. L.... ....

Loved Billy in the '80...still love him! Mercury of Queen was such a positive influence on his music and general style. I was so lucky to have been a teen/20-something during this period of music and was able to see him in concert a few times.

  77. R.... F....

3 people do not know REAL music

  78. g.... ....

Wow, this is a blast fro mmy past. This live concert footage was filmed at the Philadelphia Spectrum in Sept. of 1983. I was there and briefly shown in the overhead camera crowd shot. Great gig, Ratt opened as I recall...good times.

    g.... ....

gglaw42 Yep...they played the song twice. First real concert I was allowed to go to. Ratt opened, as you said. Memorable night/trip. The trunk of my Duster flew open on I-95 on the drive into Philly. :)

  79. k.... ....

    @Dhoylandrules84 I don't entirely agree.

In Boston, the big four are Aerosmith, Boston, The Cars, and The J Geils Band.

At no 5 is clearly Billy Squier.

Then we have Extreme, Godsmack, Bobby Brown, etc.

  80. J.... H....

@camaro8782 agreed; huge ratt fan myself, so i went to see them live. became a big squier fan after that

  81. R.... C....

PROBABLY ONE OF BOSTONS MOST UNDER RATED BANDS.
    ALONG WITH.....................
    FARRENHEIT
    JON BUTCHER
    ELLIS ISLAND
    NEW ENGLAND
    AND LOVELACE!

THESE BANDS RULED THE CLUB SCENE IN THE 70'S AND EIGHTY'S
SEE IT WASN'T ALL PUNK AND DISCO!!!!

  82. D.... N....

This was around 1984..Ratt opened up on this tour..I went to see Ratt but Squier blew them off stage..Billy broke a few ribs that night humping the stage "true story"...

  83. D.... ....

I was at this concert back in the late 70's in Philly! Awesome concert...camera panned right over top of us. Billy rocked us out! I hate getting older...the new music just doesn't have it....

    D.... ....

    Moonbeam was ‘83 I believe...

    D.... ....

This show was in September of '84.

  84. E.... H....

Saw these guys in Tulsa in 1991. Very good show, loved it..

  85. w.... ....

    Don't u wanna live?

  86. W.... F....

    Gotta love Billy Squier

  87. T.... S....

WOWSA!!! I've seen Deep Purple also at the same arena I saw Billy at (Worcester MA Centrum) and they were amazing!! But the tickets sure were not that cheap!!! lol!!!! But I should't complain either, I didn't pay for them!!! ;) Yet I cannot fathom concert tickets being that low in price, MAN!!!

  88. T.... S....

DAYUM, he was my very first concert when I was 14 years old (I still have the ticket stub, it was like $13.50!!! lmao, times have changed!)..I was showing my 10 year old daughter last night, and now I feel officially old! lol!! Ratt opened back then in 1984, but when Billy came out the crowd went NUTS!!! LOVE Billy!!!

  89. J.... L....

@sellingon Funny you say that, i have his greatest hits cd in my vette right now hahaha

  90. s.... ....

squier music always makes me wanna DRIVE FAST !! not a good thing to listen to in the car ;)

  91. R.... ....

This was my second concert I ever went to. I had seen Ratt just a few months before and then Billy Squier came to Carbondale, IL to play the SIU Arena. I was a freshman so it had to be late 1984 or early 1985. This was the opening song.

  92. a.... ....

    MISS YOU BOBBY

  93. c.... ....

Dude! I never knew he could shred that well!

  94. b.... ....

I enjoy the guitar solo from about 3:17 with added beachball kick at 3:34 for fun!

  95. j.... ....

As a general rule you should go see anybody your dad likes if he's into Billy Squier. The old rockers who are still on tour are better than seeing anything current.

  96. l.... ....

    And now10/10 NYC!!!

  97. K.... G....

WOW, what memories, This was the first concert I ever went to. 1984 signs of life tour, Ratt opened up! Blossom Music Center Akron Ohio!

  98. l.... ....

Well, I met him recently and he was anything but stuck-up. He was a true gentleman, and a nice guy. Kind of a quiet personality, but really cool. Other people I met at the shows who also talked to him echoed my sentiments. His wife is super nice, too.
