Springfield, Dusty - That's How Heartaches Are Made Lyrics

(That's how heartaches are made)
(That's how heartaches are made)
They told me I was such a fool to love you
They say that you're the kind who'd never be true
Pretty soon the day would come
When I'd be the sorry one
But I said that I'm not afraid, well
That's how heartaches are made
That's how heartaches are made

I went ahead and my heart opened the door
I gave you so much love no-one could want more
You pretended to be mine
How could you be so unkind?
With all the other girls you played, well
That's how heartaches are made
That's how heartaches are made

That's how heartaches are made
That's how heartaches are made

I know you're not sincere
And you'll never be
But still I want your kisses so desperately
I can never let you go
Baby, you know I know
Every rule of love you disobeyed, well
That's how heartaches are made
That's how heartaches are made
That's how heartaches are made

Springfield, Dusty That's How Heartaches Are Made Comments
  1. N.... P....

Dusty loved Baby Washington's voice and her 'Big Brown Voice' Dusty's words. She does a great version too.

  2. A.... H....

No one can every do this song better than Baby Washington so many have tried but fail Jeanette Baby Washington is the queen off this song

  3. 5.... ....

Don't forget 1970 and the version by The Marvelettes ( Wanda & The Andantes )

  4. t.... b....

wonderful record straight from the heart i think of my regrets when i hear this

  5. M.... E....

If Dusty doesn't try and sound like Baby Washington like she took Shirley Alston sound.

    M.... E....

I think it was the other way round.

    M.... E....

Manuel Esparza you now that you mentioned it, u’re right

  6. A.... L....

much as I love Dusty, Baby's version is just a little better.

    A.... L....

Well that's where you're wrong, missie.

    A.... L....

That's like saying sunlight is better than moonlight. Ain't bout' better.

  7. p.... ....

I try not to compare versions, just enjoy Dusty's so - and Baby Washington was a fave of Dusty's.

  8. S.... H....

This era is so precious and simple. The past is so warm and fuzzy compared to the present and future that is so frightening and unpredictable. I agree, Baby Washington's version is #1.

  9. H.... B....

Oh my! I had NO IDEA Dusty did a version of Baby Washington's "That's How Heartaches Are Made."
I want to love and live again with them both in my world.

  10. l.... r....

Like how Dusty sang on the backing vocals as well as the lead. But not on opening intro part I don't think, wonder why.
Maybe she thought it sounded better to just come in later on the backing track. Sounds terrific on it.

  11. T.... N....

why does she always sing others songs as well or better?

    T.... N....

She couldn't help it. Too gifted. Any lyric and melody her voice caressed was bound to sound superior.

    T.... N....

    Unlimited talent!

  12. T.... ....

Beautiful, but Baby Washington did it better.

    T.... ....

Aww, shut up. Snark, Snark. Following your lack of rationale this song sould never be done again. What a monumentally stupid way to view things. It's not as if you said "I like (or prefer) Baby Washington's rendition." That would be a little less snarky. Grow up.

  13. d.... w....

So classy and soulful, everything she sang! I wonder if Adele was exposed to Dusty? I would love for her do a tribute to Dusty.  WOW.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    d.... w....

Yes, Adele heavily influenced by Dusty. She's spoken about Dusty in interviews.

  14. S.... L....

A close second ? Every rule of LOVE you disobeyed.

  15. s.... h....

    Beautiful version.

  16. g.... ....

Probably the one time where someone did one better:  Bette Midler (And I do mean, the ONLY time!)

  17. v.... ....

OMG I love this one by Dusty Springfield as well as the version by Baby Washington...both ladies rocked it out. Peace friend.
