Springfield, Dusty - It Was Easier To Hurt Him Lyrics
I should have told him
That I needed him
When I had the chance
And now he's left me
And it's all over
I should have told him then
Over and over again
That I love him
But, it was easier to hurt him, ooh
It was easier to hurt him, ooh
It was easier to hurt him
That's what I thought
Was being so smart
And mistreated him
How could I forget?
I was so sure that he
Would always trust in me
Oh, that I'd take a bet, no, no, no
He'd never say goodbye
But here all alone am I
He is gone now, ahh, 'cause
It was easier to hurt him
What could I do?
(It was) Easier to hurt him
I should have known better
That's what I thought
Was being so smart, oh, oh
It was easier to hurt him
I need him so bad
(It was) Easier to hurt him
What did I do?
(It was) Easier to hurt him
I should have known better
(It was) Easier to hurt him
I need him so bad

People actually thought that was bad sad best ever female singer
How could 7 morons dislike the greatest?
Simply MARVELOUS! 💖💖💖
RIP princess.
She was the only singer at the time who underlined the phrasing with hand and arm gestures her range was phenomenal and she said she always finished with You don’t have to say you love me, because the notes especially at the end were so high, she could have transposed but was determined to sing it in the key it was written in, I’m absolutely sure we’ll not see her like again.
love the head shake at the start
Dusty at her best, bravo!
Dusty sound Fab but what's up with the sound of that band? Backup singers sound good. But something is up with the mic on the drums maybe. Must have been hard for Dusty to ignore the sound of that loud echoy drumming. Band not mixed well. She gave a wonderful vocal on it nonetheless and her microphone sounded great.
Greatest female singer.
Absolutely.
DUSTY SINGING IN PAIN AND I CAN FEEL IT
She is often imitated but she will never be replicated. THEE BEST!
Indeed.
She had impeccable taste in cover versions - The Beatles & Stones could have learnt a few things from her song choices!
I love you, Dusty.
Agreed! Her performance of this song blows me away - Every note is so clear and powerful. What a difficult song to sing and she masters it beautifully. It brings a completely fresh version from Garnet Mimms, and she does indeed look elegant and lovely. Bravo dearest Dusty!
Tremendous!! I love everything about that performance. Her dress is beautiful, her performance is straight, striking and self-assure, her vocals are perfect and she looks so young and fresh. This is a masterpiece. Dusty, give us more of that!
Thank you for keeping this video going one of her best songs :-)
Did Jerry write this? Lord almighty, I tip my cap to the man. When he heard this, he must have known he was home where he belonged. This girl was one in a million.
@gaydar456 Well true , I agree...it's hard to imagine anyone coming close and I don't know any woman out there that could sing like this performer.
Just such a dynamic performer in her time. The music is captivating. I watch this performance alot...just classic.
Love this song!!
Honestly to think of who could play her? Yes, it would be hard to imagine what performer. However, some might turn their noses up but, my thought is the singer, "Pink". Her voice sounds slightly like Dusty's. They are both soulful and both are attractive. To think of it , like Dusty, many call Pink the "white girl of soul". Either way, Dusty is irreplaceable and it would be a hard fit to become the perfect portrayl.
Why not ? But I'll always prefer the original black and white.
I agree... no one could do her justice.
Who could play her? Answer: nobody. Too unique, every note spot on and you cannot copy her free flowing physicality. A good documentary would be better than a tepid bio. The BBC did one (which is on here) and it's good.
I completely agree with everything you have said... Are they just rumours about the film? (hope so) as i have read a lot about it. Nicole Kidman is a name thats has been linked with it and also another actress but i cant remember her name. God please no! No one can portray her.. Dusty was Dusty and no one else will be. As a huge fan I think I would find it difficult to watch the film too. We all miss her and I think some would agree with me on that
Another example of the fact that no one could sing as well as Dusty! Volume never affects the quality of her voice - IMO it is still unsurpassed.
May I ask a question? Is anyone else disconcerted at the thought of a movie about Dusty? I can't imagine any actress, past or present, that could possibly do justice to her talent or beauty. I also don't think that any screenwriter could accurately portray her enigmatic life or personality. I prefer to remember and adore the real Dusty.
