I'm always optimistic when I click on a cover... my playlists are filled with them, so I'm not hating on the attempt, but this is a miss for me...

Sounds like she's talking more than singing, but she completely loses me at around the 1:56 mark when she sings it in a higher key

I like the fact that Regina Spector likes one of my favourite bands and makes a cover of them. And as other people say in the comments, this is a longtime Radiohead fan speaking (writing) and also think she does it right.

Someone a looooong time ago mentioned that they picture this song being sung by a mother coming home late from work, rocking her crying baby, using this as a lullaby, promising her baby that soon life will get better and there will be no more surpises.

My god. This shouldn't work, but it's fantastic. For a song about killing yourself due to a lack of faith in the world, your wonderfully comforting voice and the nostalgic jazz instrumentation give off a very euphoric and pleasing sensation as opposed to the more dreary original. I can't say it's better than the original. I mean, I love Radiohead. But this is fantastic. A very unique and whimsical rendition. I absolutely love it.
