I believe it's about wanting to go have some fun on the water. Kind of like that saying "it's calling my name," with "it" being anything like - that boat is calling my name, the weekend is calling my name, a beer is calling my name, bonfire is calling my name, etc. Sometimes just straight up saying what you mean is too easy and over used. It's good to come up with other ways to describe the idea you are trying to get across. It makes people think and use their imagination more.
