Soilwork As We Speak Comments
  1. r.... ....

Bjorn and Howard from Killswitch NEED to do a song together. Their vocals would compliment each others' so well

  2. J.... S....

Love that "O" face at 2:47

  3. M.... H....

This track is the 🤐haha best on this planet believe that 👍

  4. N.... N....

34 years of age still feeling young with this song pounding my ears!

  5. P.... N....

2019, almost 2020, and this song is still fucking epic!

  6. C.... S....

College days! a lot of nice memories with this awesome and band!

  7. A.... A....

    This song is wicked!!

  8. T.... D....

From this video, I gather Billy Corgan used to be a lot cooler.

  9. E.... T....

2019! Mother fuckers! I listen when i hade 22 now im 33! And is the best song for this moment, for this mother fucker warrior!

  10. m.... ....

I dedicate this album to the producer. Devin Townsend. This band is good, but this album is their best by a wide margain, in my eyes. Either way, cheers and keep it metal.🤘🤘🤘

  11. c.... ....

why the fck was my favourite song turned into 270p ????

  12. W.... C....

I want to go back to early 2000.

  13. J.... Y....

this is the kind of magic that happens when you combine talent with the producing talents of devin townshend

  14. K.... S....

I miss this version of Soilwork....

    K.... S....

성소 Me too, you should check out a band called A Dark Halo, they have a similar sound to this version of Soilwork.

  15. .... ....

    COBRAK!!!

  16. A.... M....

    SAUDADES ADOLESCÊNCIA

  17. a.... ....

i saw them live once, natural born chaos tour, just randomly looked this video up to reminisce. they headlined but the people were mostly at the show to see the shitty metalcore band that opened, and so most of them left immediately after soilwork left the stage. they were set to play this song for the encore but since most of those fucks left they didnt play it, the show ended, and i felt totally ripped off. i had tears in my eyes i was so pissed, mostly at the crowd. speed came out later and hung out, he also said apologized for the bs when he had no real reason to, a pretty decent guy.

  18. A.... ....

there is a song on the radio atm with part of the same riff from this song wtf!

    A.... ....

    What song?

  19. B.... H....

    SOILWORK WORKIN ON NEW ALBUM.

  20. R.... A....

    Brasil *****

  21. G.... G....

    fucking genius

  22. M.... N....

    It's not just 240p, it's OFFICIAL 240p! ; )

  23. B.... V....

One of the best songs all time

  24. V.... F....

This is not only one of my favorite Soilwork songs but fav Metal songs. The breakdown after the chorus gets my blood pumping.

  25. A.... ....

Wow its been 8 years since I commented on this song :)

  26. S.... S....

0:32 "Ass we speak, the Flavor, Flavor Flav! Ass we speak, I shoulda known we're burned!"

  27. S.... S....

This is honestly Soilwork's most profound and melodic of their singles. Why does it not have more views? Kind of blows my mind that Exile has more views.

  28. B.... P....

I was obsessed before i even knew who they were because they were used in badass videos.

  29. M.... ....

    this band kicks ass

  30. I.... l....

I meet Soilwork with this song! Fucking brutal! One of the most songs of melodeath

  31. s.... ....

GodDAMN I love this song! I love it so much!

  32. M.... ....

love the intro but not really loving the rest of the song, too operatic

  33. a.... ....

    240p, we meet again....

  34. M.... M....

I bought the album because of the section from 1:14 to 1:33. 2002 was the year of changes for me.

    M.... M....

MikeVonDoom How do you mean it was the year of changes?

    M.... M....

+MikeVonDoom - I had a guy audition for vocals for a project I had going on right after this came out and he showed it to me and I was blown away. I was listening to Iced Earth, Nevermore, Stratovarius and HammerFall at the time and this CD singlehandedly changed my life as well. To this day, I wear a Soilwork hat and try to spread the good word about Swedish heavy metal. People need to know about it.

    M.... M....

    @White Knight personal reasons.

    M.... M....

+MikeVonDoom I know what you mean, that part is pure bliss wish it was a little longer and would progress into different chords, even though it's kinda perfect the way it is :)

  35. S.... ....

This is a good downtempo Soilwork song, not that sellout crapfest 'Exile', lol

    S.... ....

Exile is probably the most radio-friendly song they ever wrote fam. just compare it to stuff from their latest two albums, it doesn't even compare in terms of heaviness, complexity or even the quality of songwriting

boring lazy shit, and the chorus isn't even that good

  36. H.... A....

Beautifully awesome song. LOVE IT. Speed's melodic voice is so AMAZING here. Looks like we're floating to another dimension or something. Can hardly wait to finally be at their show here in BRAZIL, next month!

  37. T.... M....

Fucking classic song. I remember when I first heard this song. It was my first step into foreign/European metal bands. And then I realized they are FAR more talented and inventive than American metal bands. This song will forever be a favorite.

    T.... M....

yeah and they're a Christian band so watch your mouth. :P

    T.... M....

+Tyler Messer - How do you like the newer releases? They've only gotten better where many bands seem to get stagnant and in a rut.

    T.... M....

Tyler Messer Chainheart machine got me unto them but this album and song got me hooked. My ex guitarist let me borrow it back in the day and been a diehard fan ever since.

    T.... M....

same thing happened to me. my dad gave me a mix cd of in flames and soilwork in 2004 i believe and it totally changed music for me. i loe soilwork to this day. check out disarmonia mundi and the stranded if you havnt already.

  38. T.... M....

Fucking classic song. I remember when I first heard this song. It was my first step into foreign/European metal bands. And then I realized they are FAR more talented and inventive than American metal bands. This song will forever be a favorite.

  39. Y.... J....

that was an end to an era, the end of good soilwork ;(

    Y.... J....

Well, Wichers was on sworn to a great divide and that's their worst album

    Y.... J....

    no he wasn't

    Y.... J....

wichers isn't a god amongest men, you know. he's capable of writing some dogshit as other soilwork "fans", like to put it. he's been on every album except StaGD and the last two. which means he was on FNF and StD and those two were pretty meh whereas the last two albums have been fantastic and he didn't write anything on them. wichers is a fantastic guitarist, but he's not the saviour of soilwork.

    Y.... J....

Ok then, I stand corrected. But yeah, STD and FNF sucked serious ass and he was on them, so yeah

    Y.... J....

Follow the hollow is great though

  40. A.... M....

    Actor looks like Lord Bendtner

    "As We Speak"

As we speak, the stable table turns
As we speak, I should have known we're burned
With the guess, I'll never, never learn
Which of those faces who makes it all turn
As we speak I'm going deeper down
As we speak with a terrible sound
    A feeble holy bastard son
    Has it only just begun?

    I turn away
    (Fadin' out alone)
Was a lifetime worth it all?
    Fadin' out
    (Fadin' out alone)
As we speak we turn to stone
(As we speak we turn to stone)

As we speak, a young man loses his mind
As we speak, he kills what's next in line
A broken down mother asks herself why
Is this the end of her precious time?
As we speak, a conscience leaves without a trace
A silent departure to a silent place
What do we know about the anger that starts to grow?

    (Don't despair)
    Time will heal your torment
    (Don't you dare)
    Spend your days in hell
    (So beware)
    Faith will bring you treason
    (While you stare, oh)

    I turn away, turn away
Was a lifetime worth it all?
    Fadin' out
    (Fadin' out)
As we speak we turn to stone
    Turn away
    (Fading out)
Was a lifetime worth it all?
    Fadin' out
    (Fadin' out)
As we speak we turn to stone
    Turn away
    (Fading out)
As a lifetime turns to stone

    .... ....

    +Надежда Цветкова
As we speak, he kills what's next in line......

    .... ....

So prolific. One of my all time favorite tunes. Nobody write them like Soilwork does.

    .... ....

It's neurophysiological alchemy, here comes the Other :)

    .... ....

Надежда Николова Just brings chills up the spine. In a good way.
    Thanks for the lyrics 😉

  42. M.... R....

Its a damn shame i didn't discover this band before. Saw a promo for the living infinite and it was described as a masterpiece ( cant say i disagree). Wish i knew them before that.
    Freaking amazing band.

  43. J.... S....

If you remember "extreme rock" came on at 1-2pm, sometimes till 3pm, on MTV Saturday nights!? then you remember seeing this video. Heard it once, got hooked immediately. Took forever to find there CD's at the time but we'll worth the backlog.

    J.... S....

+Jeremiah Sanchez I totally remember. It was before Headbanger's Ball was reinstated in 2005. I remember it coming on about 11:30 pm to midnight on MTV2 back in 02-03. It was how I discovered these guys, as well as In Flames, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, and Lamb of God. If I remember, they even played the Lamb of God video, "Black Label" occasionally!

Of course, they also played Staind, Godsmack, and other random Nu Metal alongside it, as well.

    J.... S....

+Steven Manning You mean when Jasta from Hatebreed was hosting. Yeah that's when I thought Metal was coming back. Good time for Heavy music. Too bad it didn't grow bigger. Soilwork, Lamb of God, Shadows fall, Unearth. Good shit.

    J.... S....

Steven Manning hell yeah man! that was when metal like this was showing more on tv and become less harder to find. I would smoke a bowl then wait for this to come on. When they stopped it, I was pissed but then found there CDs and other bands like them such as in flames and susperia. Good shit though, I thought I was the only one ha ha ha.

    J.... S....

Sd Ny na brother it was before headbangers ball came back on MTV. It was the only time metal was played on TV and it was played late or rather, early early Sunday morning (1am-3am my time at the time).

  44. F.... P....

2:47 Pretty bold move to masturbate in a music video

    F.... P....

LITERALLY LAUGHED OUT LOUD. SPIT BEER EVERYWHERE!!!!

  45. S.... H....

Anyone else think speed looks a little bit like Billy Corgan?

    S.... H....

@funk dogg Speed looks more intimidating, but I love both Speed Strid and Billy Corgan. +1 for being a Pumpkins and Soilwork fan.

    S.... H....

    But Billy looks more evil.

    S.... H....

    They're Swedish.

  46. T.... ....

I love these old school musicvideo style :] And I love the song as well!! :D

  47. G.... ....

When I first heard this band, I thought to myself,
    "Damn, he sounds like Anders"

    G.... ....

    Heh, i wonder why

  48. H.... ....

    good band

  49. .... ....

    Metalcore

    .... ....

    Melodic death metal :)

    .... ....

@Василий Бредихин I've never heard a Metalcore band capable of producing something this atmospheric and textured.
It's Melodic Death Metal with Alternative elements.
Sworn To A Great Divide is probably the closest they have to Metalcore.

    .... ....

+Lemmy Koopa I consider Born of Osiris Metalcore they have amazing production. They are also very talented. There is Prog Metalcore too. Soilwork work is Prog melodic deathcore for sure. I think people of different age's have thier own opinion of Metalcore. Soilwork are more than just 1 genre.

    .... ....

@Sd Ny It's Melodic Death Metal. The only albums that went into the Metalcore territory was Stabbing The Drama, Sworn To A Great Divide, and Panic Broadcast.

Otherwise, they're generally a Melodic Death Metal band.

I don't consider Natural Born Chaos or Figure Number Five metalcore. I think they're more alternative metal over melodic death.

    .... ....

Soilwork is modern death metal period.

  50. A.... F....

The guy at 2:47 needs to like... not fap on camera

    A.... F....

  54. d.... ....

What do we know? About the anger that stars to growohhhhh... Faith will bring u treason.

  55. M.... ....

I'm pretty sure anyone'd have that face expression if a band just appeared out of nowhere inside an abandoned garage.

  56. I.... A....

The guy walking into the warehouse looks just like Bjorn from In Flames lol, such an amazing track something about the end is kinda sad, but anyways Soilwork kicks ass!!!

  67. b.... ....

This song is a true brain worm. In a good way. This CD, Steelbath, Figure number five and the new double CD The living infinite are all my favorites. One of my favorite artists, hands down. Every album has good tracks on it. Just think that Natural born chaos and Figure number five has great songs from top to bottom. Don't care what you call it. To me it is good hard melodic prog Metal.
