Just like any other persons, he goes through life evolving as a human being but with the same roots. Sometimes, the limbic zone in our brain play tricks on us, and we all adapt to the world we live in, by being us and no one else; at some point in our lives, we all become what we all hate, but punks, we all hate what we all are becoming, cause it's in the nature of punk, if punk has a nature.
You don't need to be rich or poor to get into the punk world, and I don't think there is a perfect punk out there, just diferent kinds. Mr. Brett has gone through many stages of his life, being an intelectual prick, a misfit teenager, a cocaine addict, a great guitar player, an awesome song writer, a lousy father, a matture old man, a great father, a visionary punk label owner, the richest punk out there, and on and on.
The person who wrote this song, has one certain point, his raw punk view of what punk has become. It's true, Mr. Brett was not living in poverty when he started develope himself as a punk.
But, the person who wrote this song, makes Mr. Brett look like a fake punk, because all he had to do is ask. Above all, he was just another misfit, caught into the rebel world and the "cool" trendy society.
