Smithereens, The - Miles From Nowhere Lyrics
I am lost somewhere I do not know
This is not the place I meant to go
And they told me before it was so
It was miles from nowhere
If I make it back I'll stay at home
Always told me that I should not go
I'd be miles from nowhere
Miles and miles left to go
Miles from anything we know
You took your love away from me
And left me here for all to see
Never mind the feelings that you're gone
Miles, miles...
Now you tell me that I should not hate
Just resign myself to such a fate
If you told me that I was too late
I was miles from nowhere
Miles and miles left to go
Miles of sky and road below
You took your love away from me
And left me here for all to see
Never mind the feelings that you're gone
And I am miles from nowhere
Miles, miles...
Miles and miles left to go
Miles from anything we know
You took your love away from me
And left me here for all to see
Never mind the feelings that you're gone
And I am miles from nowhere
I am lost somewhere I do not know
This is not the place I meant to go
And they told me before it was so
It was miles from nowhere
Miles from nowhere
Miles from nowhere
Miles from nowhere
Miles, miles...
Miles from nowhere
Miles from nowhere
Miles from nowhere
Miles, miles...

Rest In Peace. Pat
R.I.P Pat Dinozo 🎸🎵
Thanks for the music. ...
RIP Pat! One of the coolest concerts I ever saw was in 1990 in Iowa City. Not a lot of folks showed up so the band just chilled and turned it into a sort of closed jam session. I just remember Pat bumming cigarettes from the crowd constantly, sitting on the edge of the stage, bullshitting, and taking requests. The band really performed for the small crowd that showed. One of my favorite concert memories of all time!
My first concert was seeing The Smithereens at MSU (Mississippi State) in Starkville, it was really good. I drove an old car that got only 12 MPG, so it cost $25 in gas. Later, I got a Geo Metro XFi that got 58 MPG (circa 1990)
Pat died? I saw them like 4 times. My favorite was in a tightly packed Michigan concert bar, at which the guy next to me remarked "This is the garage band from hell" They held the small crowd in the palm of their hand and gave me my best concert experience ever.
Hey Glen, I went to Bama and in my apartment I had a jam box playing 'Eleven' cassette, on a loop, plugged into the light socket outlet in my bathroom, so whenever I turned on the light I had tunes from Pat & Co.
RIP Pat
Goodbye Pat. You made great music with your time on earth. You made your mark.
RIP Pat DiNizio...
was very sad seeing his health decline...rocked till the End..
Saw them play a few months before Pat passed away. I am SO GLAD I did! Great performers, all.
Mike Mesaros always blows me away with his bass lines. Great band and completely under appreciated!
J. Babjack is a great axeman!
this song is fantastic pat is a great writer and lead vocalist the smithereens should be on the radio daily keep up the great work guys you are second to none hands down
I'd start thinking about this song when I was losing really badly on the tennis court. 1-6, 0-4...miles from nowhere, man!!!
On this tune we hear The Smithereens throwin down and delivering signature great songwriting!
I love this dark one of an album from the band , sounds storming
Way way too few views for such a great song... One thumbs down, clown!
Yeah, agree.
And up to eight clowns that will hopefully drown in their own tears sometime soon.
Alan Metzgar - this great tune came out in 1994.
Crank up the amps and rock out. This, ladies and gentlemen, is how a true rock band goes about things.
That bass sound is phenomenal. And, of course, Pat's vocal.
Yesssss!!!
i saw these guys many times VA beach the guitarist would chug beers the whole concert and never miss a note.. it was so cool one the most underrated rokk bands
HaHa! Yeah - GREAT Live band! Have seen them a couple times. You realize what a big Who fan the guitarist is when they play live. :) . . . these guys have been one of my favorite bands for a long time - so many great tunes, & great covers, too.
Not only chug it but he did it with no HANDS. Just turned the bottle up and held it with his teeth until the damn thing was gone. And, kept playing the whole time !
such a great song
Just caught a live stream on Yahoo of them.I hope Pat is OK health wise he doesn't look like how I remember him
I wonder what happened to him, as he isn't healthy now...
@jmdelan99 dude , im 44 , dont worry it isnt that we are getting old new music does suck!! , i saw a shirt that read ,,,, yeah im old, but i saw all the great bands , lol
@jmdelan99 I'm 43 and I hear you. I am exactly the same way. Very few new bands these days do anything for me.
The bands that really stood out from this era were the bands like these guys...they didn't give a shit because they were going to do things their way. Love them for that. :)
@SomethingReal1119 Nice.
@jmdelan99 LOL!! And I would've joined in with ya! the singing that is.... (they're one of my all time fav bands too, just rediscovering them after a loooooong time) ^_^
absolutely
This is awesome!
