I am a teen and I understand perfectly well what most great rock songs mean. I don't listen to that meaningless crap that some people listen to. I listen to good music, such as this. Therefore, I must call you a stereotypical douchebag. Thank you, and have a nice death.

I'm a toddler and I can tell you most toddlers don't listen to rock, I tell my friends about them and they just give me a blank stare with their bitch ass juice box while I'm hanging around with my Jack chilling in Titty City.

I get what you're saying, I do. The OP was wrong to say, "teens probably won't get the meaning." However, I think you made a technical error. IMHO, to be wise is akin to learning from your life experiences (especially mistakes). The most cunning 12 year old won't be wiser than the dullest 50 year old. In my late 20s, I don't think there is a teen out there wiser than me. Smarter? Many. Wiser? No. Props, I bet most teens can easily understand this song. Music usually amplifies communication.

Actually you are all wrong. I know 50 y.o. guy who was living his life without gaining experience as people around him was protecting him from any worries and he's actually dumber than average 12 y.o. teenager.

There are people who are 12 who are wiser than me and people who are 50 or above and will never be nearly as wise as me. There are people who are 50 who will never be as good after 30 years of practice drawing as someone who's 16 and has insane talent and draws all the time too. Age is irrelevant, it's all about people. You can't say most teens listen to rap and not rock, every one of my friends listened to rock, some both or every genre. Don't make out teens are lesser and won't understand

don't be ignorant, teens are more likely to get the meaning behind scenes than any other age group on the earth, it's as a teen that we search for meaning and ourselves, it's also a time of great sadness and happiness not always in equal measure one way or another, point is, teens relate to music far more in that way as they go through a lot of what songs talk about for the first time or feel that way for the first time etc. Finally, as I grow older, 20, I've realised, age means nothing.

Music is in the ear of the listener. With that said, it's kind of scary that so many of our nations young people can relate to Nikki Sixx music due to the nature behind it. He wrote his music mostly in a deep drug overdose and hiding in closets or in drug recovery. So either our nation is failing them and not helping or we are helping them see and they are trying to not become us!

I have to agree that most teens don't listen to rock. Hell, whenever I ask one of my friends if they heard a certain song by Sixxx A.m. they just stare at me blankly. Kind've sad really.
But I'm a teen and I get the meaning behind the music. One of the reasons I love this band so much is because I CAN relate to so many of their songs as opposed to most pop and rap artists.

I think you'd be surprised at how much teens get from music in all honesty the majority of teens are trying to find music that contains their own emotions and experiences within .

can you please stop showing off about the music you like?. its not even showing off. i might like x y z kind of music but it doesn't mean that other kinds of music suck . i think we should at least respect all kinds and yes most teens follow the crowd and listen to latest hits but noone should judge them. their life their choice

Uhm, don't generalize teens...... yea, most of them are stupid, but don't generalize. about just as many teens listen to rock as some listen to rap. No, you're wrong. Rock is better than rap, basically because it takes REAL talent. Rap is made by computerized instruments with someone saying words, not singing... i dont know how that's talent. Its not hard to write "lyrics" and its deff not hard to SAY them.

im right there with you. all i listen to is rock and i listen to it because it accually has meaning. unlike some rappers who can only write music when they have just done drugs.

i know a LOT of teenagers who don't like rap or any of the other stuff...i know a bunch who listen to the music because of the meaning, like myself. don't be all stereotypical, it's narrow-minded and more often than not, wrong.
