Saw Siouxsie and the Banshees in Detroit decades ago. Julian Cope opened for them and bradished a bottle for his entire performance. Spectacular show, definitely worth the price of admission.

One of the greatest compliments I ever got was in my early 20's as my friends & I made our way to our favorite goth club for a night of drinking & dancing. This guy comes up to me & says "I'm not a creep or anything, really, I just cant believe how much you look like Siouxsie Sioux. Hasn't anyone ever told you that before?" 🖤 of course I dont, but it was nice to hear anyway.

Xtra Delite Until a year ago we had a goth night in a local theater and you can bet this one was played (and Christine, Cities in Dust). In the last 9 years I danced more to Siouxsie and the Banshees than in my 80s teen years :) The previous decade was in a way even more goth-filled than my high school years.

John McGeoch is such a great guitarist, but so underrated

Neat! Celtic sounding and I hear a little early U2 in there!

You have to remember McGeoch was very influential. I love his playing so much. So much of the goodness from the alt movement to follow came from this guy, an incredible rare talent.

Was a teenager in the UK 🇬🇧 during these times I have seen a lot of references to goths here but what I can recollect was that the banshees were part of the punk scene.

lost world I think they formed in the punk scene and are considered post punk. Back then I already loved so many genres I lost count so I have a hard time figuring these things out. Where I lived we didn’t use the word goth much in the 80s, maybe not even at all. We called it new wave. Because of that fans of the likes of The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division and Sisters of Mercy were called Wavers.
