Sinatra, Frank - Monday Morning Quarterback Lyrics
I know there were a hundred ways to tell her I loved her
It's funny how they're all so clear today
And when her face was burning with sadness and yearning
I don't know why I turned my eyes away
Adding up the kisses and the laughter
Knowing how you'd play it if the chance to play it over ever came
But then, a Monday morning quarterback never lost a game
The room was so alive with all her feelings and longings
I saw the spark of danger in her eyes
Well, how would it have hurt me if I'd turned back and held her?
A moment passes, something lovely dies
But it's so easy looking at the game the morning after
Knowing how you'd play it if the chance to play it over ever came
But then, a Monday morning quarterback never lost a game
[instrumental-French horns-first two lines of chorus]
Yes, it's easier to win it when you know you'd never play it quite the same
But then, this Monday morning quarterback never lost a game

Wollll wollll wolllll wolll
I'm listening to this album for the first time, and I'm lost for words. These songs are just breaking me up, and this one in particular reminds me, for some reason, of some lines from a John Betjeman poem "Pershore station";
"One word would have made her love me, one word would have made her turn
But the word I never murmured and now I am left to burn.
Evesham, Oxford and London. The carriage is new and smart.
I am cushioned and soft and heated with a deadweight in my heart."
Great, Thank You very much for this Poetic Beauty
But then the one of Bob Bullee
I go and sing that song on my Youtube chanal

Great song........ I'm really moved
Love it
Iam sorry for me that i never think to listen more for frank song 💜

A moment passes and some thing lovely died .
Just gorgeous, this song really says a lot, and no one can say it like Sinatra! He always puts just the perfect amount of emotion and feeling in his ballads -- that's why he's the best balladeer there ever was, is, or will be! He gave us so much beauty to remember him by, in his songs.
M.J. Leger watch the voice of holland
My favorite song from what I consider Sinatra's last great studio LP, 1981's SHE SHOT ME DOWN.
...but it's so easyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... Extraordinary!
Great song and the best performer ever. My hero, Frank Sinatra.
