Sinatra, Frank - Look To Your Heart Lyrics

Look to your heart, when there are words to say
And never leave your love unspoken.
Day by day, we go our thoughtless way, and only when we pray
Do we remember those we love.
Too late to find a word that's warm and kind,
Is more than just a passing token.
Speak your love to those who seek your love,
Look to your heart, your heart will know what to say,
Look to your heart today.

LOOK TO YOUR HEART -- a Happy Birthday beauty
    this December 12, 2019
At this moment -- on an all-Frank Thursday -- Siriusly Sinatra satellite radio is playing LOOK TO YOUR HEART -- opening track on an album of that name: a compilation of songs recorded . . . earlier. Since the last time I looked, the album has a Wikipedia entry!
    -----
Look to Your Heart is an album by American singer Frank Sinatra, released in 1959 but recorded between 1953 and 1955.

This is the third Capitol collection of Sinatra singles and B-sides with Nelson Riddle, following 1956's This Is Sinatra! and 1958's This Is Sinatra Volume 2. It includes three songs from the 1955 musical version of Our Town.

There have been two official Capitol/EMI CD releases of the album: In 1995 within the 3-LPs-on-2-CDs UK package, This is Frank Sinatra, 1953–1957, and within The Capitol Years 21 disc box set. There is also an unofficial compact disc release of this album on the Hallmark label, released in 2010. With the exception of "Our Town" (which was originally released on a 1956 EP), all of the tracks also appear on the box set The Complete Capitol Singles Collection.

Raise your hand if you own this album (CD or vinyl?)

    Track listing
"Look to Your Heart" (Sammy Cahn, Jimmy Van Heusen) – 3:10
"Anytime, Anywhere" (Imogen Carpenter, Lenny Adelson) – 2:45
"Not as a Stranger" (Van Heusen, Buddy Kaye) – 2:47
"Our Town" (Cahn, Van Heusen) – 3:16
"You, My Love" (Van Heusen, Mack Gordon) – 2:56
"Same Old Saturday Night" (Frank Reardon, Cahn) – 2:31
"Fairy Tale" (Jay Livingston, Dick Stanford) – 2:59
"The Impatient Years" (Cahn, Van Heusen) – 3:14
"I Could Have Told You" (Carl Sigman, Van Heusen) – 3:18
"When I Stop Loving You" (George Cates, Alan Copeland, Mort Greene) – 2:56
"If I Had Three Wishes" (Claude Baum, Lew Spence) – 2:56
"I'm Gonna Live Till I Die" (Al Hoffman, Walter Kent, Mann Curtis) – 1:54

If you are a true Sinatra fan, I recommend The Capitol Years 21 disc box set. It's pricey, but worth it.

Lovely song, nice that you showed the covers of some of his albums -- thank you.

You're welcome, M.J. These are covers only from his Capitol albums.

From treasured Sinatra 12-inch long-playing great singles collection 'Look to Your Heart', his fourth from the 1950s ('Songs for Swingin' Lovers' and 'This is Sinatra' vol. 1 - not so much vol. 2 - came out earlier), One of the first such that I could afford to buy. How I lost that disc, I cannot recall for sure.
For decades I expected to find a re-release of this favorite Cahn-Van Heusen tune, even on audio cassette. No such luck.
Many favorite Sinatra singles ('Three Coins in the Fountain'; 'Learnin' the Blues'; 'Hey Jealous Lover'; 'From Here to Eternity'; 'Witchcraft'; etc.) came out on CD on the 'Frank Sinatra, the Capitol Collectors Series' in 1989. But no 'Look to Your Heart' (or 'Anytime, Anywhere'; 'Weep They Will'; or 'Time After Time' - WHAT were they thinkin'?).
In 1996, Capitol Records put out the 4-disc: ''The Complete Capitol Singles Collection' and, behold: there it was - as a BONUS track even! ('Anytime, Anywhere'; 'Weep They Will' and 'Time After Time', also.) But I was disinclined to invest 30-plus dollars in order to get that one special recording and duplicate other songs. So, with regret, I did not.
Came Christmas, 2008. A more fervent and knowledgeable Sinatra aficionado by the moniker 'Shamrocked4ever' posted the song on youtube, along with the more sophisticated recordings in the Sinatra repertoire, elegant lyrics presentation included. I commented in detail to him my tale of woe, to which he responded with empathy as we continued to correspond.
Story, short. A surprise package from the US postal service arrived at around New Year's 2008. You guessed it. The whole special edition. I thanked Shamrocked4ever, but I have come to realize that I never did so adequately. Coming across this wonderful posting, from 'catman' allows me to give testimony to his kindness. Hats off!

@Mauricio Durón I'm glad to have helped you express your thanks to Shamrocked4ever, Mauricio. I'm also a Sinatra aficionado and would be happy to upload any special requests that you might have.

@catman916 Much appreciated! Most vocalists are within easy reach, but would your kind offer extend to instrumentals, orchestras, jazz -- or even classical? Thank you.

@Mauricio Durón If I have it, yes, Mauricio.

This song was one of several others featured in a one-time telecast of Thorton Wilder's "Our Town." Frank played to narrator. An EP was made of the music. Other songs in the production were Our Town, Love and Marriage and The Impatient Years.

This song has an awesome combination of Sammy Cahn's lyrics and Jimmy Van Heusen's melody.

This song and Golden Moment are two otherwise obscure songs that are tied as my favorite Sinatra songs.
