Sinatra, Frank - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) Lyrics

I was five and she was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
I wore black and she wore white
She would always win the fight

Bang bang, she shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down

[instrumental]

Seasons came and changed the time
And we grew up, I called her mine
She would always laugh and say
"Remember when we used to play?"

"Bang bang, I shot you down"
"Bang bang, you hit the ground"
"Bang bang, that awful sound"
"Bang bang, I used to shoot you down"

[Bridge]
Music played and people sang
Just for me the church bells rang

[instrumental]

Now she's gone, I don't know why
And till this day, sometimes I cry
She didn't even say "goodbye"
She didn't take the time to lie

Bang bang, she shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down

The song loses all its noir and erotica in this piece. I prefer his daughter 😁

Life goes on it says 1966, but I assume it is the same as she did in 73’.

@Boston Momma hi, thanks for helping but I asked for Frank Sinatra's song not his daughter Nancy unfortunately...

    L.... g....

@Boston Momma there is a record that Frank Sinatra recorded it in 1973 but it's secret no one has ever uploaded it so far, there is only 1981 version from Frank Sinatra which is this song. İt's the second one.

Thanks to post it. I love Sinatra's voice so much. He was my idol in music since I was very little.

  17. s.... ....

He does justice to this and makes a just ok song into something special...Best version for me..

  18. M.... ....

    Damn much better, classic

  19. M.... F....

the best version of it <3

  20. R.... D....

he definitely does not do the song justice, I don't like his rendition. His daughter Nancy, things that much better, see it on youtube.

If you prefer a more dramatic version (like me) then this is great

August 29, 2015: Seems to get into it...No, IT is within him pouring out emotional sad feelings. He sings and tells THE meaning of the lyrics as if it was happening at the moment (or your own moment). Listen, listen, with eyes closed and the mind opened. Sincerely, Bruce Marchetta hypnotherapist/singer/educator/writer/ enjoy-er of life

I didn't like this one as much. A bit too downbeat, or something.

@Colonel Lunks Yes, it is a very dramatic and moody song, but it has a certain "edginess" that I like, and Mr. Sinatra's interpretation really brings that out. He really seems to get into it.
