Shocking Blue - In My Time Of Dyin' Lyrics
In my time of dyin' I want nobody to moan.
All I want from you to do is take my body home.
Well, well, well,
Well, well, well,
Well.
Meet me, Lord, meet me,
Meet me in the middle of the air.
When the evening falls, my Lord,
Won't you meet me when the night is there?
Well, well, well,
Well, well, well,
Well.
So I can die easy.
Well, well, well,
Well, well, well,
Well, well, well,
Well, well, well,
Well, well, well,
Well, well, well,
Well.
Now in my time of dyin' I want nobody to cry.
Well, well, well,
Well, well, well,
Well.
So I can die easy.

Shocking Blue In My Time Of Dyin' Comments
Much respect to the band and singer, but this song clearly needed another female singer with a moore bluesy touch. The vocal strength is there, but Mariska didn't sounded hartbroken busted enough to perform it. It would have taken a Janice Joplin-disciple or an Afro American singer that really came from the slums and already thought several times seriously about dying. But, hey, Shocking Blue left us tons of fantastic songs, so to the fans, no need to start an Operation Rolling Thunder over my personal and subjective comment :)
Mariska sings enough calm. Because Mariska and Shocking Blue are from Europe after WW1 and start of red world revolution. And any slums in comparison with Europe environment at that time is simply Eden garden.
