Of course my comment is subjective, camrade. I' m just giving MY opinion. But did you say sepultura made roots for money and fame? If it is what you think, give us evidences. Max quit to found soulfly after it. I think it was totally his will to bring something different into the sound of sepultura, not a calculation for fame. And as you said some liked and accepted, some others not (some even took the train at this moment and liked both sepultura' s direction and soulfly one' s).

Subjective opinon much? Some people didn't like it may not be an agreeable opinion but it was a nu metal ish album in a time when anything with the word nu metal on it made money which was taken advantage of by record labels for bands that weren't really Nu metal. Some people didn't like it it was more commercial then thrash metal that being said there is nothing wrong with liking it. It's just music afterall shouldn't have to start a war over it otherwise where just as dumb as religion.

How something in metal genre can become better? Sepultura simply changes, from not so clarity heavy metal to almost classic heavy metal. You can`t tell which Sepultura is better, because time changed so like them. I`m glad you told us your point of view, but I beg to differ.

God this is horrible. Andreas has been dragging the Sep name through the mud since '97.... and Roots sucked ass too. Long live old Sepultura! RIP 1983-1994.

The bottom line is the drummer makes a metal band what it is. Igor was Sepultura. I think Derrick rocks, I saw him live and he kicked ass! But the unique drumming is what made Sepultura. This is fine for what it is, but it doesn't sound like Sepultura. Where's that core sound? Igor has it. Just like Slayer. Yes, Paul Bostaph rocks...but who would you rather hear playing drums? Paul or Lombardo?

@AGNthrasher are you fucking kidding, I'm a huge Sepultura fan and they're one of my main influences but as good as Andreas is you just have to listen to the last few soulfly and the first CC album to see who the real masterminds of Sepultura were, I'd like to see you play and sing at the same time like Max does

@linchpin313 I have to agree 100%. To Me, Max is a piss poor guitarist, pretty good vocalist and a really great guy. What made Beneath/Arise shine (in my opinion, of course) was the Kisser's classical backround. Without his leads or flair in playing, they would have been very, VERY generic Thrash albums. I respect the Cavalara brothers and what they do but I think people put too much weight on their significance.

@insecticon77 The stupid thing is, if Max did come back and they made A-Lex as their album, everyone would have called this a "Classic" or "The real Sepultura is back"... despite all this mess, nobody seem to point out the fact that derrick put in alot of hard work in this band, he moved to sao paulo and had to learn their language and everything else... nah, i personally don't want this reunion, read the lyrics to What I Do? sounds like he talking about himself and what's happening now. :P

Being commercial in this particular situation is to bring together both Cavalera and create some straightforward oldschool thrash album for the KIDS to go crazy at concerts. And yes, of course they make money from touring. Nobody gets rich by album sales anymore, since internet became accessible for everyone. And don't get me wrong, I've been Sepultura fan since 1989, I've witnessed all their growth and transformations. But now it's a very f. up situation

Actually is the other way around. Soulfly's the band for KIDS now. With the same ol cliches in the lyrics since the second album. Sepultura grew into a very ingenious band - I would like to know how many of you "new-Sepultura haters" have read A Clockwork Orange and understand what lyrics are all about??? So stick with the Jumpdafuckup wisdom and don't bother bashing something that's beyond you to understand. And Conspiracy is the most commercial product from Cavalera EVER. All for the money.

I miss a lot of people, but I get fuckin over it. If you love Max so much listen to his stuff. Sepultura is better the way they are right now. they try to do different stuff. Since Roots, every album and every lyric by Max is THE SAME!!! He's so talented but he repeats himself just too much. TOOOOO FUCKIN MUCH. (Except Soulfly' latest record, "Conquer")

Anyway, I liked Sepultura until Roots, and I also liked Against. I dindt like Nation very much and I didnt like Roorback at all. I kinda liked Dante XXI, and I like this album. Sepultura is getting better =D
