Selah - I Have Decided Lyrics

I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back, no turning back

Though none go with me, still I will follow
Though none go with me, still I will follow
Though none go with me, still I will follow
No turning back, no turning back

It's so good to grow up in a very faithful family, and give all they have only to God. Which, i seldom look at that way in the character of my father, mother and uncles...what wasted years sometimes...i only hope that we as parents could have better characters than they are.

  5. A.... N....

    Very nice version

I have always loved this song..I think I first heard of it in 1992 or 1993 or somewhere around there...It made such a meaning back then and it always really did touch me as a child. .I thought of the countries that were experiencing war at that time. ..I was still a child...and now as I read the comments below. .I learn that..the one who actually wrote it, was persecuted with his entire Family. because of his belief in Jesus Christ.......This song will remain a converts hymn... it's such a powerful song...It got right through me as a kid...and having lost my Nephew last week..He was only 21 Years old.. He decided to follow Jesus. 17.09.2017 RIP.... ..this Song and the singers here..raise my downhearted spirit right up to the gates of heaven. .it is so angelic and it gives so much comfort to the heart and soul.God bless you eternally Selah for this precious gem. For my Nephews sake I will still follow Jesus ..till We see each other again in Heaven.Amen

About the language, Todd and Nicole Smith sing in Congolese. During their live concerts they talked about growing up in Africa and singing songs in Congolese with their family something Todd still usually does to support Laban Ministries. I love how many times, mostly in the earlier albums when Nicole was still with Selah, they'd sing at least part of the hymns in this language.

So, according to your argument, the millions and millions of Christians who received Jesus Christ as their Savior over the past 2000 are what? In hell?

    M.... ....

From Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words.

Your argument is not supported either by the original text of the New Testament or by history.

"A rose by any other name..."

    Jesus:
is a transliteration of the Heb. "Joshua," meaning "Jehovah is salvation," i.e., "is the Savior," "a common name among the Jews, e.g., Exd 17:9; Luk 3:29 (RV); Col 4:11. It was given to the Son of God in Incarnation as His personal name, in obedience to the command of an angel to Joseph, the husband of His Mother, Mary, shortly before He was born, Mat 1:21. By it He is spoken of throughout the Gospel narratives generally, but not without exception, as in Mar 16:19, 20; Luk 7:13, and a dozen other places in that Gospel, and a few in John.
"'Jesus Christ' occurs only in Mat 1:1, 18; 16:21, marg.; Mar 1:1; Jhn 1:17; 17:3. In Acts the name 'Jesus' is found frequently. 'Lord Jesus' is the normal usage, as in Act 8:16; 19:5, 17; see also the reports of the words of Stephen, Act 7:59, of Ananias, Act 9:17, and of Paul, Act 16:31; though both Peter, Act 10:36, and Paul, Act 16:18, also used 'Jesus Christ.'
"In the Epistles of James, Peter, John and Jude, the personal name is not once found alone, but in Rev. eight times (RV), Rev 1:9; 12:17; 14:12; 17:6; 19:10 (twice); 20:4; 22:16.
"In the Epistles of Paul 'Jesus' appears alone just thirteen times, and in the Hebrews eight times; in the latter the title 'Lord' is added once only, at Hbr 13:20. In the Epistles of James, Peter John, and Jude, men who had companied with the Lord in the days of His flesh, 'Jesus Christ' is the invariable order (in the RV) of the Name and Title, for this was the order of their experience; as 'Jesus' they knew Him first, that He was Messiah they learnt finally in His resurrection. But Paul came to know Him first in the glory of heaven, Act 9:1-6, and his experience being thus the reverse of theirs, the reverse order, 'Christ Jesus,' is of frequent occurrence in his letters, but, with the exception of Act 24:24, does not occur elsewhere in the RV.
"In Paul's letter the order is always in harmony with the context. Thus 'Christ Jesus' describes the Exalted One who emptied Himself, Phl 2:5, and testifies to His pre-existence; 'Jesus Christ' describes the despised and rejected One Who was afterwards glorified, Phl 2:11, and testifies to His resurrection. 'Christ Jesus' suggests His grace, 'Jesus Christ' suggests His glory." *
[* From Notes on Thessalonians, by Hogg and Vine, pp. 26, 29.]

    M.... ....

"jesus" is not transliterated from anything but "jesus". This name is nothing but pagan tradition of greeks derived from nonsense or their god ZEUS. No wonder it sounds the same GEE-ZEUS. lol

    M.... ....

Hell? Why? The hell is here alredy. You simply think it is your home. It is not. It is place you want to get out as soon as possible and your fake "jesus" won't help you because devil deceived you calling on wrong savior.

    M.... ....

Question to you: Was Messiah "Christian"? lol
The name of the Messiah is YAHUSHA . Why do you
call Him "jesus". He has no nicknames. lol And, if you say it means "God saves", i will tell you again, it does not mean "GOD saves" but YAHUAH SAVES = YAHU+SHA=YAH saves! Where does "jesus"
have spot here? NOWHERE! This name has no meaning! And "god" has no
meaning either because it is a Babylonian name GAD which you call
savior. So by your words GAD is your savior and J-ZEUS his son. lol
    THINK! Coincidence? No.
You can easily PRONOUNCE YAHUSHA in any language including ENGLISH.

But he refuse to do so and start to sing this song : I have deciaded to follow Jesus !
But the leaders in the villige toke his wife and asked the man : you have one last chans to : live If you turn your back to Jesus and get back to your old gods? Or we kill your wife ? And the man sade : I have deciaded to follow Jesus !
And they kill his wife .. And they toke his 1 child and ask the same questien : will you say No to Jesus ? And return to our gods? No the man say! I have deciaded to follow Jesus!
And they toke his 2 child and ask the same questien? And the man sade No ! I have deciaded to follow Jesus!
And then they asked him self the same questien : will you safe your own life and turn away from Jesus and turn back to our gods ? No the man sade ! I cant do that! Becouse :

  54. M.... ....

Im not trying to sway from the version of the song, I just love the lyrics in general, but from my church band called Kaleo put up 2 versions on iTunes (money go towards missions in Haiti). Its very special to them because Andrew, the singer went to Haiti knowing this song and walked into an orphange of kids singing the chorus over and over, he recorded them using a little camera and one song that is on there has them signing at the end, powerful stuff. Just look up Till All is True by Kaleo, GB
