Selah - Depth Of Mercy Lyrics

Depth of mercy, can there be
Mercy still reserved for me?
Can my God His wrath forbear me
The chief of sinners, spare?

Heaven find me on my knees
Hear my soul in passioned pleas
Depth of mercy, can there be
Mercy still reserved for me?

Now incline me to repent
Let me now my sins lament
Deeply my revolt deplore
Weep, believe and sin no more

Heaven find me on my knees
Hear my soul in passioned pleas
Depth of mercy, can there be
Mercy still reserved for me?

Heaven find me on my knees
Hear my soul in passioned pleas
Depth of mercy, can there be
Mercy still reserved, mercy still reserved
Mercy still reserved for me?

Beautiful rewrite of a song originally composed by Charles Wesley in the 1700's. I am disappointed, however, that versus 2,3,4 of Wesley's song were not utilized; but do find the chorus that has been added to be complementary with the words Wesley pen'd in the orginal work. To hear all five versus of Charles Wesley's Dept of Mercy together with this chorus would be absolutely incredible.

    Additional verses by Charles Wesley:

I have long withstood his grace,
long provoked him to his face,
would not hearken to his calls,
grieved him by a thousand falls.

    I my Master have denied,
    I afresh have crucified,
    oft profaned his hallowed name,
put him to an open shame.

There for me the Savior stands,
shows his wounds and spreads his hands.
    God is love! I know, I feel;
Jesus weeps and loves me still.

  20. D.... G....

Thank you very much for posting this song. We will sing it on Sunday, may God be glorified for His unfailing and unending mercy.

  22. b.... ....

Thank you for posting! You need to change your description though... replace the inaccurate line "Now my foul revolt deplore" with "Deeply my revolt deplore." The rest of it is great!
