It's really only technically a "song" though, since songs must by definition be sung and the singer here is only being used to give that technical qualification so that a composition for solo violin could compete under the established rules. Honestly this dated Enya-like plink plunk pseudo-Celtic music is not to my taste but it was in fashion at the time (see also Den Vilda and The Voice), so that's fine. But no matter how pretty or popular it was for its era, this is a fairly cynical use of a loophole in the rules and I doubt they would get away with it nowadays.
