Not sure how pearl jam ranks above the trees. Had like 5 albums before Ten was recorded

My son and I saw Lanigan play Auckland in 15'. Fuckn' magic. Would have loved to see STs in their day, God yes !!

I saw them in Atlanta open for Soul Asylum and Spin Doctors (yes, it must have been embarrassing for them) in '92, I guess. I went to the show just to see the Trees, and was struck by how large the band members were. Lanegan is 6'2" and was dwarfed by the Conner Brothers, who liked to roll around on stage in flannel shirts and cargo shorts. I was in the 3rd row enthusiastically dancing while my friends sat patiently waiting for the next band whose singer was dating Winona Ryder. I'm glad Lanegan made it through the wilderness and has had such a great solo/collaborator career. One of rock's greatest goices, ever.

This Band? Still has a story to tell. A story about most if not all it's members former & presant. A story more amazing then then any American Rock band could ever Hope to tell! My god man just listen to their music!!!

Almost cost me my life once though because this tune was the next one on queue in my "Psycho Freeride 2" playlist when I started down the Steinberg (Engelberg, Switzerland), known for steep drops, deep glacier crevasses, and of course, avalanches. Barely managed to outrun and turn away at the last second from a "small" avalanche that I triggered myself on the way down. Adrenaline orgasms can be pretty f**king awesome, as long as you live to talk about them...

This is not grunge. Trees' music was influenced mainly by 60s psychadelia with a little 70s blues-rock. They were lumped in with their grunge friends because of a shared geography, but Screaming Trees predated all of the bands now considered "grunge."
