i bought this album when it was released, it came in a red translucent wrapper, ( i heard that usa censors insisted) you could kind of see the artwork through it.

this album is like a can of gasoline, and michael lit it on fire.

I first heard this album when I was in college in about 1986/7. I loved it straight away. I haven't heard it in a few years, it's brought back some great memories.

I saw the Lovedrive Tour here in Seattle at the Seattle Center Coliseum. Scorpions opened for Theodore Nugent and they wiped the stage with his loincloth... They were great.

I saw uncle Teddy here in Houston, in 1979...I could only wish SCORPIONS would have opened, it was ANGEL, which was pretty cool...but not close to SCORPIONS cool

This is the Scorpion's golden era IMO ... the creative structure and interesting guitar work is some of their best.

This was a huge part of my life in '79. So much going on. Deaths, new relationships, setting out on my own. I went through two vinyl copies of this album, I played it so much. And while Rudolph is an incredible guitarist, Michaels contribution on this is epic.

The year i graduated ,incredible lead guitar from m. Schenker.

How to know who recorded or wrote what? I read Micheal recorded lead guitars but is that just the solo's or did he write rhythms as well? Also read he did these songs only..."Another Piece of Meat", "Coast to Coast", "Holiday", "Loving You Sunday Morning" and "Lovedrive". Killer work though. I love Micheal Schenker!

@Izzi Michaels So he was basically just wanting the credit listed and not the money. Watched an interview about getting cut out of the picture and liner credits etc. Maybe it was their manager?

@yours truly its really hard to say, it appears that michael was being quite generous when he helped the scorpions on lovedrive. michael's name and his touch enhanced the scorpions career on this, their breakthrough album. to leave him out of the credits on the 50th anniversary box set, was more than an oversight.

And you want to know why the guitar riffs and solos are so wicked or I'd say they are just sick and kick ass. It is because Michael Schenker wrote half of this album on his own and on every song on this album he plays guitar. There was never a picture of him in the album insert but on the original album and even the remastered version it says his name and gives credit for the songs he wrote. However when the Scorpions did their fifty year anniversary box set collection which had this album there is a DVD part that has Rudolf saying HE is the one who wrote the songs Michael wrote and came up with all these crazy stories of how he wrote them and where he got the ideals. Then to top it all of Michael Schenker got zero credit and his brother Michael gets no credit at all. I think part of it has to do with that Michael used to be a heavy alcoholic..... but that gives Rudolf no reason to burn his own brother. Shit Michael wrote the first two Scorpions albums on his own and that is the thanks he gets? That is wrong and fucked up.
