Tore my knee apart and 3 broken ribs racing motocross. Got this while in the hospital. They were giving morphine after my knee surgery and somehow had a private room. My friends would bring weed. The nurses would get stoned with us. (It was differant back then) i couldnt walk so i started to play guitar. I was stuck in bed for 8 months blackout was the first song i learned

I remember looking at this album cover as a little kid and being totally fucking alarmed at how disturbing it was. And there's the point in the song where he screams and the glass breaks and it uses to give me nightmares but my stepfather would blast it non-stop.

I'm in my teens, so I like to use the AUX in my car. It is not so often that THIS track comes on your local rock radio station (Although I did request it one time in like, the first grade, my Dad was pretty proud of that, made me call in on his flip phone driving home from the store when I asked. We sat in the car together and listened to it before unloading groceries) So I play this song in my car with the AUX sometimes. Often, I would say. I cannot tell you HOW MANY times I have been playing this at full volume in my car, got to the end, and almost swerved into a fucking tree because Klaus Meine's scream at the end of the song and the glass shattering has scared me shitless at full volume. And surprisingly it still gets me every single fucking time.

I got blackout drunk last night. When I woke up this morning, my place was absolutely trashed. Now I'm listening to this song to procrastinate cleaning up

At 13, used to listen to this track repetitively, stare at the sleeve wondering what the hell the story was behind the artwork & all the driving high energy shrieking (I never saw the 'no one like you' video before and had never heard of Gottfried Helnwein). cover looked like some future dystopian nightmare from clockwork orange to me. Never occurred to me that the Scorpions really weren't that deep, or a concept band. Still great music.

I don't know why but for some reason I always thought they were saying "I really had a big mouth" instead of "I really had a blackout". I thought that's what they were saying for all these years until now.

All time classic! Jabs' tone and dive bombs, then those fills in-between lines in the verses....this lad had to follow Uli Roth and Michael Schenker FFS!!! But he did it with style and amazing maturity, never overplaying, just delivering great solos that suited the songs. Bravo Mathias, bravo Scorps!

According to Michael he is playing ALL the fills...didn't get the credit however. IDK it very well could be!

@Kelley Carey You might be thinking of something else, I don't think MS has ever claimed to have played on Blackout at all? There was controversy over Lovedrive - MS is on that one, and so is Jabs? For example, Loving You Sunday Morning doesn't credit MS at all, but he played the main solo (which is a great one!)
