Savoy Brown - Leavin' Again Lyrics

(See you later alligator)

I'm leavin' again, long way to go
It's a sad sad feelin' already know
The ticket's bought and the contract's signed
It's too late to change my mind

I'm leavin' again, help me pack my case
I'll be a long long time in another place
I'm working for something and it ain't no lie
It could have taken a lifetime to buy

I'm leavin' again when the night has gone
So let's make love while the time, time rolls on
And time rolls on to another day
And this time tomorrow I'll be gone and so far away
I'm leavin', leavin'

I'm leavin' when the night, when the night has gone
When the night [?]
When the time rolls on, when the time rolls on
Rolls on to another day

This time tomorrow I'll be so so so far away
I'm leavin', yes I'm [?]
I'm gone now many miles away
Oh I'm leavin'

There may be a curse on this song ...who knows?
    short
I'm leavin' again when the night has gone
So let's make love while the time, time rolls on
And time rolls on to another day
And this time tomorrow I'll be gone and so far away
    I'm leavin, leavin (musical break)

I'm leavin' when the night, when the night has gone
When the night ??? fades to dawn ???
When the time rolls on, when the time rolls on
    Rolls on to another day

This time tomorrow I'll be so so so far away
    I'm leavin, yes I'm ???
I'm gone now many miles away
    Oh I'm leavin

Thanks for the thumb. I have to say something else. I wanted to cover the song, but it always spoke a voice in between when mastering. He called himself John and wanted to know my second name. His night would then be over. He spoke German with a strong English accent. The micro symbol on empty tracks of my DAW always came by itself. If I deleted that, he would be back the next day. Surely there could have been trackers on the Internet. But apparently nobody has ever covered this song and it's not that hard to play. There must be a reason. The same thing happened to me with "The Letter" by Kristine Hersh. Nobody has ever covered this song either. Anyway what John told me was so scary that I had to give up the Leavin' again project. I looked for Savoy Brown online. There used to be a John in the band. And by night the Twighlight Zone is probably meant and he wants to get out of there. I'm definitely not trading with him.

Wow, this is a killer tune. The beat reminds me of an old Blodwyn Pig tune I heard.
Thanks for putting this record up! Regards Ody Slim.

Brings back memories from the early `70s. Moves me now as it did then. To paraphrase Forrest Gump: "Classic rock is as classic rock did."

  12. C.... S....

Great tune. Had to pull the album down from the shelf and give it a fresh listen.

Used to listen to this(on Cassette) coming back from Moons Liquors that was 30 miles from Ruston as Ruston was in a dry parish so on Friday afternoon I would make a run to Moons liquor just outside of Monroe. We always had a little extra money from the collection and we would enjoy a little extra on the way back to Ruston. I miss the early 70's.....The Music was killer!!!!

My memory of this song is cranking it on the car stereo, windows rolled down in the summer. Got a lot of funny looks for the normal folks.
