Savoy Brown - It Hurts Me Too Lyrics

You said you was hurting, almost lost your mind
And the man you love, he hurts you all the time
When things go wrong, go wrong with you
It hurts me, too

You love him more when you should love him less
I pick up behind him and take his mess
When things go wrong, go wrong with you
It hurts me, too

He love another woman and I love you
But you love him and stick to him like glue
When things go wrong, go wrong with you
It hurts me, too

Now you better leave him, he better put you down
Oh, I won't stand to see you pushed around
When things go wrong, go wrong with you
It hurts me, too

  3. C.... B....

I used to hunt for records in the most unlikely places in Mexico City in the 70s and found this album (and 3 TYAs) for a ridiculous price of less than half a dollar each. Of course the record was made in Mexico but in those years, cruising down to the coast of Oaxaca we didn't give a damn about high quality sound or noise reduction. Even today when I listen to these new CD versions I swear I can still hear the scratches of my LPs! Listen to Louisiana Blues on this album.

  4. s.... w....

What about it, Dave or Kim playing the lead on it hurts me too? Anyone out there with definitive knowledge, if you do and it's not merely an opinion, post it, man!

    C.... R....

It was Kim. Saw them live first US show Ungano's club NYC. You can tell it is a Gibson Flying V on the record. Kim only played the V at that time. I also saw him Kim on lead doing it live at Ungano's It was the closer of the 1st set, and the 20 min. Boogie the closer of the 2nd set. BTW only 3 people in the Ungano's audience that night. Me, my best friend, and my mom! They absolutely had no following in the US at that time.
Saw them twice more in 68-69 at the Filmore East. First as a double bill with Fleetwood Mac and later as top bill.
Bought a gold top Les Paul after seeing Jeff Beck in 68, and a Flying V after seeing Savoy same year at Mannys, and a white maple neck Strat after Woodstock 69 Boy, I wish I still had them now.
With case, I only paid around $200.each Now together maybe 50K!!!

  54. J.... C....

why the blues is has and will always be king''' of music , of course being made tried and true in the great united states of america'' so yeah you stragglers can get our leftovers,

    J.... C....

@John Carous The thing is though the US didn't want to know the original great black blues artists till the UK picked up on them in the early sixties and brought them to your attention, so don't get on your high horse pal.

    J.... C....

    +Peter Williams
very true, that..most white Americans ignored the Blues till the Brits came along...and the Brits did it as well if not better than the Yanks.

  55. m.... ....

The reason these guys aren't a top selling artist is their songs are all over 3 minutes long.....

  56. M.... D....

Every Savoy Brown song is a Masterpiece, there are many songs , I did´nt heard before , and they are so great!!!

  57. i.... h....

    JDPB...kako si lepa!

  63. R.... P....

    stvarno najbolji bluz na svetu!

  64. t.... ....

Always an underrated band, Savoy Brown played the blues with more soul than 90% of the other groups who claimed to be blues groups. Even without their regular front man (Chris Youlden) this version of the song is one of the best ever recorded. Kim's guitar smokes, Bob Hall's piano fills in brilliantly and the rhythm section of Lonesome Dave, Tone Stevens and Roger Earl chug along. Great work and a song I never get tired of listening to.

    t.... ....

Dave's voice is an instrument of amazing sound!!

    t.... ....

@Mikael Hoelge Daves version with Foghat is top 10 of all time, my opinion!!!!!

    t.... ....

    @1blastman

    t.... ....

@steve mann I'll look for links, but the album is called "Before Foghat Days" on London Records Collector's Edition. It was previously released as Warren Phillips and the Rockets. I'll see what YT has with that band. The London Records registration number is LC 50018 They cut it during the Step Further album on lunch breaks. There's a good

  69. r.... p....

    Najbolji bluz na svetu.

  70. n.... ....

    very good

  71. A.... ....

Savoy Brown were under appreiated for sure. Though the many line up changes did not help. The late 1960's albums were solid blues. On to the boogie blues days of the early to 70's with Lonesome Dave when Savoy Brown enjoyed their biggest popularity. That lasted till Lonesome Dave and 3 other current Savoy members left to form Foghat leaving only guitarist Kim Simmonds as a constant member.

  72. A.... ....

I have this LP on vinyl and I still love it. Have those first hard core bluesy albums ever come out on a current generation CD? The first two or three were such good blues albums.

  73. G.... P....

One of the best bands ever ... Sooooooo unappreciated!!! I remember listening to these guys on casette or was it 8 track , driving around in my car ... cruisin' down Central Ave in Albuquerque, New Mexico ...

  74. m.... ....

Great band that never got the well deserved approval!!!

  75. m.... ....

... and generally for charming tête·à·tête situations!

  76. c.... B....

    That's L. Dave.

  77. B.... B....

I second that emotion. Thank you so much for sharing one of the best versions of this song. Yes and Dave goes intergalactic with his lead on this one. Yes. Yes. Yes.

  78. m.... ....

hands dowen best damn version of this tune

  79. B.... B....

blows me away. no equal, many great others, but no equal.

  80. J.... J....

I used to have an album called Jammin' With Edward. Mick Jagger sings It Hurts Me Too on that album with Nicky Hopkins, Ry Cooder, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts. Recorded during the Let It Bleed sessions in 1969. Keith Richards split because Jimmy Miller the producer brought in Ry Cooder to play guitar.

  81. c.... t....

hats got to be kim on lead guitar what a sound

    c.... t....

cosmo topper, sorry, but that just may be Dave on this lead. Does a great job, too. That's at least what I've been told. I wish someone would definitively set the record straight, Kim or Dave, playing the lead on it hurts me too? Anybody out there who has the truth, what about it? Post it, man!

  82. J.... R....

Lonesome Dave KILLS on this one!

  83. m.... ....

    Best version ever
