One of my favorite songs of all time, and one which describes perfectly my marriage. When I proposed to my wife, I promised her to always look after her and watch for her, as in her previous marriage and most of her previous relationships she had been treated close to abusively. I even had a DJ play it at our wedding and sang it to her (although my terrible singing voice does not do the song justice, and I usually never sing, not even under the shower)

after twentyeight years of listening to this song it is still my favourite. I cant believe that chris never took guitar lessons and still was one of the best lead guitarists of all time. That feeling in his playing is/was just amazing. Nearly impossible to copy. RIP

I'm so happy I listened to this song in my teens. This was the first ballad I've ever listened to. It helped me so much when I was having an hard time. It means so much to me. It has one of the most touching lyrics I've ever read.

And yet most people will never hear this song as it s not what people are used to. Doesn't even count if you are religious or not or what religion you follow - cause at the end of the day all we need is to Believe.
