Savages - Hit Me Lyrics

Oh tell me
Tell me I'm miserable now
Oh cherie, can you tell me
I took a beating tonight
And that's was the best I ever had

Tell me, tell me, tell me
Help me, will you help me
Tell me, tell me, tell me
Hit me, will you hit me now

I think I'm ready tonight
I think I'm ready tonight
I think I'm ready tonight

Oh hit me
Hit me with your hands
Oh its the only way I ever learn
Oh if hell is
If hell is a dog fight

I think I'm ready tonight
I think I'm ready tonight
I think I'm ready tonight

I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready

Iggy Pop played Savages doing this song on his BBC radio show. I thought the singer was trying way to hard to sound like Siouxsie Sioux's singing style. It's one thing to be influenced by other singers, nothing wrong with that. But it's much less laudable, imo,  for a singer to be so amateur, or have such little confidence in themselves, they feel they have to mimic someone else to get their own singing across. Find your own ********* style!

+Yigit Onder Yea dude, i find this comment to be very misguided. Savages got their shit on FLEEK.

    H.... ....

+Yigit Onder This isn't a "genre" style of singing. It's someone who's evidently listened to hours of Siouxsie records and carefuly practiced singing to try to mimic muliple specific nuances of Siouxsie's style. Siouxsie had her influences. She was a huge Marc Bolan fan, & bits of vibrato she ends lines with, or sticks in the middle of lines are a Bolan trait. But no one listening to her will think "Oh, she's just trying to sound exactly like Bolan." She sounded like Siouxsie, not someone else - unlike (ahem) her wannabe mimics.

+Hermesacat - This singer/song-writer/performer has embraced a role progressing the heavy, moody English rock band sound. Her phrasing and selectively applied vibrato sounds like a dark, intense, female Morrissey to my ear, mixed with some Joy Division when they play live (especially in the new Adore Life). It reads like you're dismissing a very talented person because they are a female singer in the English rock music continuum making interesting, mostly minor key rock music, and Siouxsie already did that so its done.

  16. M.... S....

    Drummer is hot.

  17. d.... ....

so Birthday Party, especially in her intonation mid way through the song, sounds like a combination of the tracks Dead Joe and Sonny's Burning

    d.... ....

I know this performance was prior, but her whole thing with the audience was done in the excact same way in 20.000 Days on Earth.

  18. W.... M....

Nice stamina by the drummer on the bass drum...
