Sara Groves - Come Thou Fount Lyrics

Come thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing your praise
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount I’m fixed upon it
The mount of thy redeeming blood

Oh to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be
Let your goodness like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to thee
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here’s my heart Lord,
Take and seal it
Seal it for thy courts above

Prone to wander, Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Prone to hear you and not heed it
Prone to scorn you in your love
Prone to wander
Prone to wander

Oh to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be
Let your goodness like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to thee
Jesus sought me while a stranger
Wandering from the heart of God
And He to rescue me from danger
Used his own precious blood

Filled with unexplainable feeling of love in Christ Jesus. Makes your heart swell with sweet cry but sheds no tears.

I heard this song only once in my brother's car and it took me away from that moment.. She sings it so well her version blesses me abundantly. Her melody is touching.

Too, the first time I heard this song was when I was travelling. Nice singing

I had to search for this specific version especially because of the way she emphasized "prone to wander". I battled with it for a long time because nobody wants to fail at anything but having been hit with series of set back I found myself desperately searching for her version. I didn't realize it was actually her who sang it but when I googled the line "prone to wonder" twice, I saw a result with her name and just felt it had to be her.

Heard this first almost 8 years ago. Thank you Sara for being down to earth and understanding in your lyrics I have come across

One of those songs I learned as a child. When I hear these songs, I can't help but think about all the water that has passed under the bridge.

Is there a version of this rendition with the lyrics?

  7. p.... ....

    I like her singing, its beautiful, poetic, with full expression;
However, I don't see the point of changing the song, unless its to claim copyrite for royalties. If it ain't broke.......................
