dimmu boredom,cradle of whatever etc,are a saturday morning cartoon parody of black metal & shouldn't be even mentioned in the same sentence with Samael.Ceremony of Opposites is a masterpiece album. No band managed to make an equally good record since,its unmatched level of artistry a sad testament to the fact that the genre today is more dead than 70s punk rock and filled to the brim with clowns as pretentious as hiphop "artists",more concerned with posing for cameras than making good music.

I don't know, but I think people who don't feel like this isn't Black Metal have been misled into a standard of crap like Dimmu Borgir and whatnot. When this came out, it was THE BEST of everything that was Black Metal, shortly after Black Metal first spawned from Death Metal. Yeah, a lot of bands were Black Metal pioneers (Burzum, Venom, Mayhem, etc.), but Samael were Black Metal perfectionists. Black Metal now days are wishing they could be Samael, but they're just cheap imitations. (IMO)
