Sam & Dave - Don't Pull Your Love Lyrics

Don't pull your love out on me, baby
If you do then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down and cry for a hundred years
Don't pull your love out on me, honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
But don't leave me drowning in my tears

You say you're gonna leave
Gonna take that big white bird
Gonna fly right out of here
Without a solitary word

But I know you'll break my heart
When I watch you close that door
'Cause I know I won't see you anymore
Lord, lord, lord

Don't pull your love out on me, baby
If you do then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down and cry for a hundred years (for a hundred years)
Don't pull your love out on me honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
Don't leave me drowning in my tears

Now listen, huh
Haven't I been good to you
What about that brand new ring
Have I been good to you
Doesn't that mean anything

If I threw away my pride
And I got down on my knees
Would you beg me, beg me
"Pretty please"

Don't pull your love out on me baby
If you do then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down and cry for a hundred years
Don't pull your love out on me honey
Take my heart, my soul, my money
But don't leave me drowning in my tears

Now listen
There's so much I wanna do
I got enough love for two
But I'll never use it girl
If I don't have you

Don't pull your love out on me, baby
If you do then I think that maybe
I'll just lay me down and cry for a hundred years (for a hundred years)
Don't pull your love out on me, honey (don't pull your love)
Take my heart, my soul, my money
Don't leave me here drowning in my tears

Oh, don't pull your love (don't pull your love)
Don't pull your love (don't pull your love)
Don't pull your love (don't pull your love)

  1. M.... H....

Check the Ralph Paulson version from Harley Quinn movie.

  2. R.... W....

    Gotta love the soul version

  3. I.... R....

    needs more Dave.

  4. C.... D....

Batman brought me to the rock version and the rock version brought me to the original blues version. 👍🏾 nice

  5. M.... ....

I give them credit for making this song their own. This took creativity.

  6. m.... y....

Words Same but music totally diffrent

  7. M.... P....

Ok i love Sam and Dave music but i'd prefer the Hamilton Joe Frank version better

Check the version from Harley Quinn. The animated Batman movie. It made me go back and find the other versions. I like it best so far. I want my praise and worship team to work it out for Easter.

    Great version!

  9. I.... Y....

If you have to go thru all that to get someone back, do you really want them back? It's only gonna happen again.

  10. J.... H....

There is no soul in the Hamilton Joe Frank version. It is generic.  Sam and Dave have soul to the bones!

@James Hack I'm not sure I'd say that. It's like listening to the Kim Carnes and Jackie DeShannon versions of "Bette Davis Eyes" -- they're so different that which one you prefer is more about genre than style.

@James Hack Sam & Dave are great, but this performance is more to show off than to sing the song; more like a live performance than a hit single. That's fine, because the hit single was already out, but if this had been the original version, we'd never even know what the composer's intended melody was!

    J.... H....

Soul is shit if it can’t beat a version of a cover, I normally prefer an original but this is bland

No wonder  I lost girls in the past...I didn't know how to really beg:)

Don Fender I know how you feel friend. To realise that just to possibly ask may have saved just a little feeling of being loved. Well that's all we need. God bless.😀

Hamilton, Frank & Reynolds DID do it first, it was written by Brian Potter and Dennis Lambert. The song was originally recorded in 1971 by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, and went huge the summer of 1971, reaching four on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the Easy Listening chart. Sam and Dave covered and recorded it late 1971. Their version was released on Atlantic Records in October 1971 and reached #36 on the Billboard R&B charts
