En su nuevo disco, "Take all my loves", el cantautor neoyorquino pone música a nueve sonetos del poeta y dramaturgo inglés. Hay arreglos orquestales, ópera, rock, pop, cabaret y hasta electrónica. Shakespeare viaja por todo ese mundo sonoro de Rufus, en opinión del músico las palabras del poeta tiene la capacidad de trascender cualquier tiempo, hasta el punto de que admite interpretaciones modernas. Rufus Wainwright ha evolucionado en los últimos años desde el pop barroco a la ópera, aunque no pretende asentarse en el mundo clásico, ni en ese 'establishment'. En julio vendrá a actuar al Teatro Real de Madrid. Otros dos recintos de ópera en Europa del este quieren programar su primera ópera "Prima Donna" y confiesa que está trabajando en otra ópera llamada "Hadrian", pero ha prometido que volverá a hacer discos pop de nuevo.
