Roxy Music - Out Of The Blue Lyrics

All you cares
Now they seem
Oh so far away
All your fears
I fear I once shared
Now I know
There's a future
For all of us
Not so long ago
I was so scared
You seemed so sad
I could see
Through your twisted smile
So unsure
Always confused
Pale blue eyes
Gazing down
From your ivory tower
Through the haze
All broken and bruised
Then: out of the blue
Love came rushing in
Out of the sky
Came the sun
Out of left field
Came a lucky day
Out of the blue
No more pain
I don't mind
If it's only
A passing craze
Throwaway lines
Often ring true
If I were you
I would stay
For a little while
I you were me
Would you walk out
In style?

Roxy Music Out Of The Blue Comments
  1. L.... S....

This cover was banned in the U.S., when the album was released. ... had to buy it and my younger brother gave me this copy for Christmas ❣👍😎
It WAS a surprise and one of the best Christmas gifts I ever received.
    We don't talk now -

  3. d.... ....

    My fucking God, just fantastic!

  4. Z.... F....

I love this song so much. Especially the killer violin solo at the end. It’s actually this particular song that makes me want to pick up violin again

  5. W.... S....

    Glam is good.

  6. C.... C....

Bassist John Gustafson added so much to this band's sound. A mix of funk and thump. Then you had Paul Thompson playing like a fast Simon Kirke -- like most bands, Roxy Music was a sum of its parts, and it all worked so well.

  7. d.... ....

Transports me back to better times, a fucking class pop tune

  8. M.... L....

    Eddie Jobson on violin?

    M.... L....

https://youtu.be/fPuGCApb4jQ that is what I thought👍🏻👍🏻stumbled across this interesting character who dissects and reacts to great 70,80’s music 😊he has an eclectic taste you might enjoy!

  9. D.... H....

I used to have all those classic album covers (vinyl) with the models on up on my bedroom wall as a kid! Shocking electric red carpet, stone white wall in my flat... man I was a dude!

  10. A.... L....

Sounds like Portishead before Portishead with a funk rhythm section and sung by Charles Aznavour. With porn on the cover.... Yup, I’ll have a lifetime of that with chips please...

  11. T.... ....

  24. f.... ....

What Manzanera does at 2:08 is glorious — one of my favorite moments in all of RM’s music.

  25. J.... D....

Singing out of tune was never so artistic as this, until after this.

  26. J.... P....

I've owned a Country Life 12'' in my record bin for years and never listened to it once. Finally did and fellas, the album cover art completely threw me off.

  27. S.... I....

    Brian Ferry personification of cool.

    Country Life (1974)
One glance at the Country Life artwork and you’d be hard-pressed to believe Ferry didn’t enjoy a fling with Constanze Karoli and Eveline Grunwald, the two German Roxy Music fans who were all too happy to remove a few layers for Ferry and co. Having met the singer in a bar in Portugal, where Ferry had decamped to write lyrics for the album, they also helped him translate a portion of the song ‘Bitter-Sweet’ into German. Arguably the most controversial of the Roxy Music album covers, the Country Life artwork proved too racy for the US market, which issued the album with a picture of the foliage, sans models.

    M.... P....

Thank you, just about a perfect LP starting with the cover.

    M.... P....

I bought this first pressing with this cover in the US with no problem whatsoever.

    M.... P....

This is not entirely correct: "...the Country Life artwork proved too racy for the US market, which issued the album with a picture of the foliage, sans models." I had bought this LP with the models on the cover still sealed in 1977 for 3.99 in NYC at J&R Music and kept it sealed until sold a few years ago with the exposed models on the front cover. It was a true fluke to find this after the cover modification. Only later did the record co. pull the model cover and reissue with foliage as you mention. There was also a release where the models were not seen as the shrink wrap was not clear / see through as a dark shrink wrap protected the viewing of the original artwork / models. The image in this video was never available on the LP (it was a cropped version). Great story on the models, thanks for sharing this and I too met Bryan Ferry at Radio City Hall in NYC back stage when they headlined for Modern English in 1983. As I was speaking with Bryan, another person interrupted our conversation and he had told this other party to please wait until we were done chatting. Such etiquette. (Updated) > Atco Records in the U.S., insisted the sleeve was wrapped in opaque green plastic with a sticker on. They then demanded a redesign, and the new cover had the shrub from the back sleeve put on the front, which stayed for all copies sold in North America between 1975 and 1980.

    M.... P....

Too bad he supports Fox hunting

    M.... P....

revup67 I bought this LP in ‘86 (in the US) and it had the plain shrub cover.

  31. M.... B....

Когато Рокси мюзик бяха действително добри...

  32. T.... L....

Like a Jazz singer Bryan Ferry peppers the song with lyrics

  33. f.... c....

with all the hot models out there why would Ferry use a transvestite ?

    f.... c....

If you think anyone of those two is a tranny I'd change optometrist ;-)

    f.... c....

Brian Ferry dated/shagged most of the women on the Roxy album covers . These two women are from Germany, they did not shag Ferry (albeit it wouldn't surprise me.) They just liked Roxy Music. After listening to this song I'd be hard pressed not to like them enough to get naked myself.

    f.... c....

    Eric Haugh Funny.

    f.... c....

    transvestites don't have breasts.

    f.... c....

    Or Adam's apples

  34. P.... M....

    my favourite song..

    P.... M....

Fucking fantastic pop song timeless loved it since I heard the LP as a twelve year old in 74, cool sleeve too

  35. a.... ....

Hi, where'as this photo from...the original cover desn't show their legs......(Nice profile pic, by the way)

    a.... ....

Let Google images do the work... I like the uncropped image as well.

    a.... ....

    thanks.....

    a.... ....

    yeah it's pretty cool

    a.... ....

That is what I thought, too. Have this album plus five more. Each cover looks just as good as the one pictured. The band is great, too.
