Ross, Diana - I Love You (Call Me) Lyrics

I love you, I love you
I love you too
Baby will you call me
The moment you get there

I love you, I love you
And I love you too
Baby will you call me
The moment you get there

My tears, my dearest of all, darling
I know, I know, I know
I know we've got to part
Baby, baby, baby, it really doesn't hurt me that bad
Because you're taking me with you and
I'm keeping you right here in my arms

It's all because I love you
Call me, call me the hour
Call me the minute, the second you get there

Not really loving this version, too dramatic....Aretha got this one. I don’t even know why Diane would want to use any of Aretha’s original songs.

Years ago I read that Diana was so moved by Aretha's recording of Call Me that Diana "just had too record her own version of this classic love song written by Aretha. I am glad that Diana did! Lovely recordings by both Divas!!

i am now and always been a diana ross fan.....this was a poor song choice and she brings nothin to the song///

No Diana..wrong choice to cover. It doesn't need a Pop cover, its a soulful song. Aretha wins and im NO Aretha fan.

    The song is so romantic.
How could Diana resist covering this song?

I am a big fan of DR but think this is on of her weakest vocals. Maybe another 2 takes could have made this performance as special as other songs on EVERYTHING IS EVERYTHING. Simply a matter of taste and style.

I think Diana lends a real sexy soulful groove to this.  Aretha is a great song writer as well as singer.  Would have loved to have heard Diana and Aretha duet on something.  Aretha, a real meat and potato singer meets Diana all sugar and dessert.  It would have been a real feast!

What a great song written by Aretha Franklin, The Queen. Diana didn't do much with it but it's nice. You can really tell that she has a limited vocal range here. Most of her songs seem to be crafted just for her. This one not so much but it was still enjoyable.

It's on Diana's second solo album "EVERYTHING IS EVERYTHING" which came out, I believe, in 1971.

I love Aretha Franklin's original version. It's powerful and soulful. But Miss Ross' version, I especially love. It's so sexy and sensual.

I've always loved this song by Aretha & I like this version. When did Diana record this?
