Ross, Diana - His Eye Is On The Sparrow Lyrics
Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart feel lonely
And long for heaven and home?
When Jesus is my portion
Is he
His eye is on the sparrow
I know he watches me
His eye is on the sparrow
I know he watches me
I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
I know he watches me
I know he watches
I know he watches
I know he watches me
I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
I know, I know, I know he watches over
He watches over me

Thank you Jesus for salvation
on an interview she said that she played this song at her mother's funeral, because her mother used to sing it for her
What I TRULY LIKE about this woman’s voice is how she can sing different types of genre of music but HONORS each piece BY sticking to the style of the material & music, yet makes it HER OWN without over or under-doing it. Additionally, having a pretty voice makes it GLORIOUS. What a beautiful spiritual & gospel music!
Sung so beautifully, Ms. Ross's voice is so smooth, soft and gentle, her version is so
delicate and classy with a different unique style......love it!!
I love you Diana Ross.
a beautiful song. just found out whitney houston moved her crew and cast to tears singing this song just two months before her death.
I love Diana's version of this song. She sings it with much depth and conviction. It brings me to tears and reminds me that the greatest gift we ever recieved was the gift of our Saviour Christ Jesus. I pray Ms. Ross is just as sincere in singing this song and that she knows the Saviour that she is singing about.
very beautyfull n different, i love it
After all these years it still renders me to good tears. Thanks for reminding me the power of having a personal relationship with the Lord our Father. You sing it like a sincere intimate testimony not a performance. It's the TRUTH.
Thank you Ms. Ross!
A really beautiful & moving rendition.
Thanks for posting.
This is one of the best versions I've heard. Other artists tend to over do it with the vocal gymnastics. It is such a beautiful melody, and Diana has done a fantastic job. And I'm not even a fan of her's.
Her family sang this at her mother's funeral. It was her favorite song.
RIP, Ernestine Ross.
VERY MOVING! thank you for this post!
