Ross, Diana - Does Your Mama Know About Me Lyrics
Does your mama know about me
Does she know just what I am
Will she turn her back on me
Or accept me as I am
Did you think of what he'll say
Will he be understanding
Or does he think the usual way
Maybe I shouldn't worry
But I've been through this before
And I'd like to get things straight
Before I'm knocking on your door
Does your mama know about me
If she says forget about me
Do you think you'll understand
And what about your friends
Do you care what people say
Will you accept the burdens
I know will surely come your way
Maybe I shouldn't worry
But I've been through this before
And I'd like to get things straight
Before I'm knocking on your door
Does your mama know about me
Does she know just what I am
Will she turn her back on me
Or accept me as I am
Oh, we've got to stand tall
Tumble or crawl
We've got to be strong
For a love that's so right
Can't be wrong
And everyday I see it grow
I don't wanna let it go
That's why I gotta know
Does your mama know about me
Does she know just what I am
Does your mama know about me
Does she know just what I am
Does your mama know about me
Does she know just what I am

Ross, Diana Does Your Mama Know About Me Comments
This is a frickin' lullaby!!! Awesome!!!
Sing that shit DIANA!!!
Some songs need to be left alone, this song is a classic, leave it be, let Bobby Taylor have this!!!
''guess who coming to dinner''.
TOMMY CHONG who wrote this song! from Cheech and Chong!
this a good remix for the supremes's. Diana sings very good.
Diana knocked this one out of the park!
Great Job, Poster!!!
TOMMY CHONG
for the guy you talked about Diana Ross push the little girl out of the way with the Roses you're such a liar I think he just want to hear yourself talk you made that comment seven years ago and I'm just now looking at it but if you are reading the comments today please read this one you pull that lie right out of the sky Diana Ross is a diva in a good way not a bad way cuz you really don't know what the meaning of Diva is so get a life evidently you must like something about her you was at her concert
I really wonder if Mary Wilson ever realise how beautiful she was...
Diane sounded congested when this was recorded.. like she had a common cold or something..
I can understand go Miss Ross!
Saw them last night and they sang this song as part of the show. It was freakin' awesome.
or a may december relationship
yes and they stole from good talented artist as well
Yeah I was wondering about that and was right. Thanks for the info
Cindy Birdsong was sexy as hell!!
I came here because this song was co-written by Thomas Chong (of Cheech & Chong). Beautiful Chords & Nice song.
This song was written by Tommy Chong and Tom Baird in the late sixties and is about interracial relationships. Cool to see that it still has relevance today
Jim Van Ryn True! I wonder if Tommy Chong was writing from his own personal experience.
I love this song and remember my teenage feelings of inadequacy and angst. Now it hits home again for so many other reasons. Thanks for posting this and the WONDERFUL pics as well! Glad to see younger folks appreciate the sixties and seventies stuff!
Love This Song, and this version is Bad Azz!!! Thank You for posting
This track is from the compilation LP "It's Happening!" It features five songs by the Supremes and five more by Neil Diamond. It was on the MCA Special Products label.
I must say these ladies were the best dressed out of the girl groups. They wore the most fabulous gowns.
i luv this song...i would listent to it when im buzzed and man it takes me places..lol
@stacynewyork No, she sang through her nose for years.
@michellesvids1969 I disagree. Adantes all day!!
Anyone have the Jermaine Jackson version????
this song was writen by Tommy chong of cheech and chong
@GAMOM2 surely your on the hard shit if you think that Junkie Amy has a better voice than diana ross. put that crack pipe down. she looks and sounds like a wet dog.
Diana's voice is very small, and is best descibed as "tinny".
I saw a girl who was around ten years old attempt to give the bitch a bouquet of roses after a performance, and she pushed him out of the way and kept walking without even acknowledging her; the poor kid was in tears. A true diva with all the negativity that the word implies. Now she can't even get a gig, and all she does is sit around all day and drink.
They shouldve given the other girls a chance, tbh. Sorry but Diana's voice doesn't go with this song. This song needs a fuller, more soulful voice. Diana's voice is more for cutesy pop songs.
she got alot more talent than that Cow Britney spears and amy whinehouse druggie bitch. YOu dont know shit. dont come at me becuz i got sumptin for your sand eating ass. fukin maggot.
beautiful pictures I LOVE IT! thanks for posting
Asshole, I didn't even listen to the video, I was looking for the version recorded by "Formerly of the Harlettes." I rarely see or listen to any of Miss Ross' work, but I'm not blind and deaf, or living in a cave. I'm well acquainted with pop culture, and I can tell the difference between true talent and a media-promoted icon. She has a tiny voice that needs electronic enhancement, and all she is now is an over-the-hill forgotten drunken diva.
Have a seat Rafael!
Maybe its the wax build up in your ears.
shes always so annoying yet your watchin and listening to her videos..duhh whos the one annoying? people like you who harp on ross yet watch listen to everything she do. Only a Fan of Ross would know this is her. Many folks never even knew Ross covered this old song. but I understand you really love ross. so you listen to everything she recorded you cant seem to get enough of Ross.
One of those hidden gems that you're happy you found. I have alot Supreme favorites but this song right here shot right past the rest of them. Easily my all-time favorite song by the Supremes.
Diana Ross has an amazingly TINY voice.
She's ALWAYS so annoying.
lovely pictures. Diana Ross has such a amazing voice.
Nice.... But not even close to the Bobby Taylor & The Vancouvers version (which they have removed the audio from on Youtube).
Not even remotely in the same League now I think about it a bit more. Sorry
incredible! i didnt know 'the supremes' recorded this!
those were some beautiful ladies!!
Does anyone have "chanins of love" from the same album (Love Child)?
Thanks for this fabulous song!
diana is such a soft singer...misssmuggles reminds me of her
Diana does a good job but this is all Bobby Taylor.
I agree!
Some of the best photos I've EVER seen of the girls on Youtube! That's the Andantes singing on the backup vocals!
really? id like to hear it. i hate when the girls are turnt down too low ugh lol. i love Diana but i love backup vocals just as much.
Great photos. There are better mixes of this song, though, with the girls turned up more.
