Linda Ronstadt really found her way in this repertoire and is singing fantastically well here. I've never heard this wonderful classic song done better and rarely as well.

I drove my dads car this evening and then this song started playing. When it got to this part of the chorus:
"I'm wild again, beguiled again
A simpering, whimpering child again
Bewitched, bothered, and bewildered am I"....i smiled and felt uplifted for no reason.

A beautiful voice that does show how great Lorenz lyrics were. Of course Rogers music is superb but it is the lyrics that are outstanding. Sad that Linda can't perform but we do have this Nelson Riddle Album

While listening to Linda I noticed all the artists on the right that have versions of the song too.  Tried a number of them.  None are in Ronstadt's league.

Linda's version is great but Ella's is Effortless

Yeah. I think Ella and Bing had that in common--Effortlessness. Colfer had it on most of the solos he got on Glee. They were to song what Astaire was to dance, the appearance of an uncanny, even impossible, ease.

Try Ella Fitzgerald. She was the queen of jazz. No one can match her style.

Linda Ronstadt could sing anything.  She is now unable to sing due to Parkinson's.  She and Nelson Riddle made such a team and her style will not be forgotten.

A wonderful song & stunning performance! I saw her perform this in Las Vegas' Riviera Club, 1962, and it still lives vividly in my memory.

I heard this song for the first time (by Linda) just tonight on CD. Impeccable is the perfect word to describe her voice.

Linda Ronstadt singing of Bewitched and Bewildered is sensually seductively after a glass of wine or two. Way to go, Linda.

Pretty well sung but it's another version which avoids the sexiness of the lyrics during a time when it wasn't necessary, as it was when Ella Fitzgerald recorded the song in the '50s. Where is "Romance, finis! my chance, finis! the ants that invaded my pants, finis!"? The show, Pal Joey, is full of fun about sex so these sentimentaized, sanitized lyrics are pretty misleading and disappointing.

Oh man do I agree. It's like everyone is scared to touch those lyrics. You could almost see Ella's rye smile as she skates through her timeless version.

music but never had the right opportunity until she met Nelson Riddle. I believe i am correct in saying that
she herself has suggested this in her own comments.

Her version will never touch Ella's. She has a beautiful voice but all she does is sing this she doesn't embody it. Doris Days version is better. No disrespect but there is a sassynes to the original that just not here as well as the sanitized lyrics.

I think there is no form of real music she has not sung, and sung excellently.

love the voice and the way she use it..linda is one of the greatest singer ever and put her vocals on jazz standards was indispensable
