Rolling Stones, The - Connection Lyrics
All i want to do is get back to you
Connection, I just can't make no connection.
But all I want to do is to get back to you.
Everything is going in the wrong direction.
The doctor wants to give me more injections.
And I don't know if he'll let me go
Connection, I just can't make no connection.
But all I want to do is to get back to you.
Connection, I just can't make it, connection
But all I want to do is to get back to you.
My bags they get a very close inspection.
I wonder why it is that they suspect 'em
They're dying to add me to their collection
And I don't know if they'll let me go
Connection, I just can't make no connection.
Connection, I just can't make no connection.
But all I want to do is to get back to you.

Rolling Stones, The Connection Comments
great album cover; sure has some great pop songs. enjoying
A bit of a pop-rhythm and blues? a bit Chuck Berry --like? - Since Keith likes it. We played it in our trio at that time, it was possible to get tight in a small setting, we were two singing in the band so we could do the harmony; just a little short song to throw in there in the repertoire that was touchy and " jump and shout a bit "..

At one time Jagger Saud this was his least favorite album. Now he says it's one of their best. I definitely agree with the latter...TJS
Back in the days when I thought Charlie was the leader of the band <3
Dont look at us were in love - look at us were in love - frank
I need to make a connection
between the buttons is a great album!

The Short Circus could have covered this on The Electric Company for a lesson on ‘tion’!!
Not the darkest of their songs ! sorry Keith!

HP or Canon used this in a national TV ad some 20+ yrs ago...I was stunned having bought the album in 1967 as an 11th grader in high school. It was their last album with a truly 'Stones' feel to it. Oldham was, a documented horrific thief to the Stones and a scoundrel in the old sense and meaning of that term 'but' he was a darn good producer. This was his last collaboration with the Stones. Next would be 'Flowers' a mere 5 mos later and then Dec 1967 'Satanic Majesties' to 'counter' the June 67' release of Sgt. Peppers by the Beatles.
Top 5 Stone albums: Beggars Banquet, Aftermath, December's Children, Between The Buttons & Let It Bleed. It was released in 1969. After 'Sticky Fingers' one could sense the 'ship had sailed'....w.o. the Beatles there was no longer any impetus to truly 'write and record'.
This would be a good theme song for a show I’m making.
Either Family Connections or simply Connections
Vote which sounds better
I like Family Connections better.
Thanks for the feedback
Unknown Productions Casting Company sounds like a song they could have used on The Electric Company!
Connections
My connection lost his phone
Damn,I hate when that happens.
Jimmy Fallon interviewing Keith brought me here.
LOL Me too
Me, too!
jimmiemclovin which one?
@bmiltonb Me Too!
Who cares
Wow, first time hearing this song! Its amazing
Dan Gulino First time for me too
@Kim Morrison It's pretty sexy
Were you around in say, 65?...
Cheto el perrito
Damn they have just always been great.
They were best with Brian in the band!
The Rolling Jones
Indeed! And each period has been special. With Brian, sure. But then Mick Taylor was on all the super great LPs of the late 60s and early 70s. And Ron Wood proved a nice pairing to Keith Richards guitar.
@Panos Kakaviatos well said Panos and couldn't agree more
That piano is obnoxious.
Try the mono version, much better.
Always loved it myself
My Favorite Album
This song sucks!!! Keith must be getting Alzheimer’s
Clean your ears out.
Fuck off!
Ah, no sir, you sir, suck. Bad.
What a downright dickhead comment. That would mean Keef would have had dementia for 45 years. Blimey,Keef will outlive us all.
@hollie65 LOL!
devilishly handsome aren't they?
Homely as sheep farmers.
Charlie and Keith were quite repulsive in their youth, but the other boys? Whew, a whole different kind of charming and attractive. Anyways, it’s better like that. Balanced. Can’t have too much handsome in one band.
Just Brian.
erection. i just can't get me no, erection.
For a different take, listen to the Ronnie Montrose version w/ Sammy Hagar doing vocals. Much slower and more introspective.
K DP That’s the version I heard first and I think it’s a better take on the song.
A little too bublegum for me. Surprised it is one of Keiths favorites.
I think its quite Punky instead
Kieth riffing out with a nasty in-your-face guitar tone. Probably one of his reasons. i get what yer saying though.
@Marty C yeah never heard yellow submarine then.
It's cos it's fun and Keith likes fun stuff :)
Presumably, this is one of the first songs that Keith wrote himself. He did this one on the first New Barbarians tour and it showed up on their live album.
que locura de álbum Between the Buttons... insuperable
I'm a Believer (The Monkeys)
yeah very true.. good ear.. I have one too but didnt hear it.
I don't want to spoil the party so I'll go
And there's the connection.
That’s a Beatles song
@Unknown Productions Casting Company and that's a fact!
One of Keith's "obscure" favorites. Me too.
Same here, can't believe this only has 3k views. One of my favorite Stones songs.
I just now heard him say that in a talk show interview, so I hunted it down.
Count in Brian Wilson. He was in the studio when they were mixing this song and he loved it dearly !
@mark rodgers Me,also!
@Cloud S Don't worry brother, it'll grow
