Roger Waters - Towers Of Faith Lyrics
Ooooh, the lonely boys
In their towers of faith
Ooooh, the lonely boys
Locked in their towers of faith
In the Golan Heights
Ohhh, the lonely boys
He said "This land is my land"
To the Shiites
Ooooh, the lonely boys
And Jehova looked up from the sea of Galilee beneath
This land is my land
And this sand is my sand
And this band is my band"
Oh the lonely boys
Lookin' over their shoulder
Checkin out every boulder in the park
Where the gates are closed from hate
After dark
And the Pope rolled up in his armored van
He fell on his knees and kissed the land
He said something that I did not understand
It was in polish
Then up stepped an aide, he said "I will translate
Here is what His Holiness said:
'I am the Chief Jesuit.
This land is Jesus' land.
And that is all
All that there is to it.'"
And in New York City
The business man in his mohair suit
In the world trade center
Puffs on his cheroot
And he said
"Well I don't care who owns the desert sands,
My brief
Is with the hydrocarbons underneath"
And the sea of battle rages around the ancient tombs
And mother nature licks her wounds
And the lonely boys locked in their towers of faith
Who are nervous in the park when the gates are closed after dark
Ooooh, the lonely boys
In their towers of faith
Ooooh, the lonely boys
Locked in their towers of faith

Such a talented musician brainwashed by Islamofascists
Mr Waters finally said what everyone should know. The white helmets in Syria is not what they seem to be!! They are the propaganda front for the islamic hell warriors!!!
Mestre do universo.
b!!! BLEEDIN' & BREATHIN' ^^ :) <3<3<3
I am Roger Waters, my music is the best in the World, I'm a controlling Virgo, puck the other members of Floyd, they're nothing, I am Pink Floyd & don't anyone ever forget it🔯
Легенда. 20 века
Roger Waters was, was, 'Pink' if any one person was. But this track, and too many other Waters tracks since he left Pink Floyd, is more a lecture than it is a song. Bummer, because I'd love to hear another great work from Roger.
I understand that point of view but it seems to me that only politics gets Roger fired up and working . This new album will be heavily political but if it gets him in the studio making a proper album I don't really care .
@Bunny a modern day Wagner!
I loved lectures in University. Especially when the 'lecturer' had some mighty fine words to share.
Free Palestine!
💜💜 🇵🇸
I foolishly watched this film with my wife on our anniversary, not the greatest film to watch on such an occasion! This new album's taking a while to come out, HURRY UP!!!!!!
meu ídolo esse cara faz meus dias mais feliz
Thought I should mention that the woman singing is Clare Torry from "The Great Gig in the Sky".
I didn't know that, nice to see they made up!
yeah clare torry also does some vocals on radio KAOS
Thanks for that info. That makes it even more enjoyable (if that’s possible)
taught from an early age to believe what they want us too an that's all there is too it
simplesmente magnífico! ! ***
Great song. Can't wait for the new album to be released next year.
its so close ;u;
All the boys kissing safe in the tower.
derpidy do
Awesome as always from Mr. Waters. Anybody know whose playing guitar on the solos? Great - somebody's been listening to Gilmour
+Larry Perkins The guitarist is Jay Stapley. The solos are pretty sweet. I like saxophone parts, myself, done by Mel Collins
Jay Stapely. Good guy.
nobody is close to Gilmour he is in a class all alone
i think rogers is one of finess musician of 20 cen,,,but as a politician, better for hem to shut off.
@גקי א why? because he openly speaks out against your country's government's fascist ways?
Why ? In a "democraty", even if ours, now, in Occident, are more "parodies of...", these days; everyone has the right to open his mouth and say (or sing) what he wants to. But pearhaps are you more found of 'fascist regim', as was singing another one, mister "shut off"?!?... Maybe are you in love with Donald 'Duck!' Trump ? ("Ah! Ah! Charade you are !")... If you have any 'idea' in politic, you can say or sing whatever you want too. If you have any talent, maybe someone will listen to you ! And if you haven't... Well, shut up !!
Roger waters to me is more than just a musician. He is one of a very few who make you seriously think about issues that in one way or another affect most people through amazing lyrical and visual performance.
To everyone out there Happy New year and sincere wishes. Hopethe year to come will be more fulfilling than last.
Your so right : )
very true
You just put my whole "fandom" for Roger into a very concise sentence. Thanks! (Some people think I'm a bit "over the top" with my enthusiasm for his lesser known works!)
Mark O'Kane true. There should be an award for this kind of medium..mix of music , visuals, literature and humanities
Dios te bendiga. Rogers..
Roger waters and David bowie.
The film in which this track was featured is a very touching film. Both mind itching and baffling.
Roger Waters has an OUTSTANDIG abillity of getting great musicians do their OUTMOST.
I've never before or after heard Eric Clapton performe as good as on "Pros and Cons...."
This goes also for David Sandborn ans Jeff Beck on "Amused to Death".
He is a perfectionist that takes music to it's minimalistic hights
You said my mind ,so true
After The Yardbirds except playing on The Pros And..., it is sad how boring mr. Clapton`s music became.
I know this an old post, but someone finally agrees. Clapton on the pros and cons was as good as he has ever been, as good as anyone has ever been.
Waters has become comfortably DUMB !!
The Alien Prophet.
you are right
Politics and music do not go together
People do not like it
Stay Bmozka Izkn unhappy
fuck people he's earned the right to do whatever he wants. the guy is a genius. and the restrained power in his voice is chilling
Speak for yourself. I quite enjoy it.
And I would say people tend to enjoy Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, John Lennon,Bruce Springsteen, and Neil Young, just to name a few.
Perhaps YOU don’t like it. That’s your right. But I find it a positive thing for the great writers to write about things that matter, to express their opinions, and for music to more than just some trite feel-good escape sometimes. I like when a songwriter has something to say.
perfect music ...
Waters & Gilmour are unbeatable in theory. We shouldn't forget Nick Mason, very very good drummer & Rick Wright who played his part as well. Was never too keen on Sid but that's probably down to the era & style that they played then. We've been very fortunate to hear what this team could produce over the years. A reformation of any kind would probably fall short of expectations. As accomplished as they all are, putting an album together (which is what we want) would be nigh on impossible.
@ rafangius....you may be right my friend....you may be right....
4 idiots disliked this..........
Roger was the brain.
Gilmour was the soul.
Mason was the body.
Wright was the light in the dark.
I love Pink Floyd and i love em as solo.
Rene Lacoste well said !
And Barrett was the crazy diamond
You nailed it
Excellent concise reponse talover403. Count me as your second subscriber. All the best.
Yeah thats called indoctrination and it can be overthrown by your logic if you are willing to introduce it into your thought processes.
I too am an atheist, in the Kantian sense. But this god shit has been pumped into our heads for such a long time that telling someone you have a great deal of affection for, "god bless you," is somewhat of a throwback reflex, and not a good one as I consider the Abrahamic god of Christians, jews & muslims to be the most evil construct humanity ha ever devised. But thanks for noting that.
God bless >: - )
You know BOTH Waters and Gilmour are atheists didnt you? Perhaps not. I doubt your god would bless them.
I still like Sid's
Effervescing Elephant.
I believe it is, yes
Wi I man
The most depressing thing is that quality material like this has 26K hits and radio friendly crap from Gilmour led Floyd like Learning to Fly and Take it Back has millions. I guess that's the difference between casual Floyd fans and true fans.
there were many more, Syd Barret,David Gilmour,Roger Waters,Nick Mason, Rick Wright
Anybody have any comments about the line.. "Heaven sent the promised land. Looks all right from where I stand. Cause I'm the man on the outside looking in." Was this a very early comment on Middle East politics???
@JohnRocksAlot Absolutely fucking true. Thank you.
God bless Roger Waters.
He does sound really good doesn't he?
This Artistic and Humanitarian Genius Totally understands and Knows what is Stealthily being Orchestrated ALL around the Globe today and by Whom!... Do YOU?
This song is close to being my most favourite Roger Waters song EVER. It's so Roger. All Roger. All genius.
@bl4nkd4hli4 you can get the DVD on Amazon for about £5!! Is a sad movie to be honest and gthe soundtrack isn't throughout the movie, just in parts. Still worth having though.
The business man in his mohair suit in the World Trade Center
Puffs on his cheroot and he said,

Someone help me out with this because I am startled by it... HOLY ****
If only I could find that "When the Wind Blows" film and soundtrack...David Bowie, Roger Waters, Genesis...it's like a musical wet dream for me!
The Alien Prophet
his music sucks now, with out pink floyd
@JohnRocksAlot the great gig in the sky is from richard wright! roger was a leader but the others did something somo good stuffs!
thanx m8 love this song
He could have been, but he blew it.
I agree with Nicholas Shaffner in his book; this and "Folded Flags" are so much better, more powerful, than Pros and Cons, and much of Radio KAOS, for that matter. Roger's decisions in the studio as a solo artist have been indeed questionable. Then again, he's in great company: Dylan has been struggling with studio decisions since the 70s.
I don´t agree I believe he is better than RW. Long life to Roger the best thing in the world of the art.
The Communist dictatorship of California S.S.R. has been brought to it's knees today. A regime that puts people from other states in Mental Hospitals and tazers people in Emergency Rooms. With the rich creating a caste system you are stuck in forever. A brutal regime lead by the last action Hero. The end of California has come. Long live America! "Righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people."
Yes, it's the same woman.
I wonder if that's the same woman that did Great Gig? Great anti-nuclear theme, though, like Two Suns In The Sunset
no its not clair does perform anymore
Love that tune great lead guitar
